Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman spoke this evening (Tuesday) at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) from Tel Aviv.

Palestinian President Abbas strengthens dictatorship by clamping down on rivals

Palestinian President’s decree strips immunity from 5 political opponents allied with chief political rival Mohammad Dahlan, who was charged and sentenced in absentia to 3 years in prison.

GAZA – Days after the 12th anniversary of the death of Yasser Arafat, Palestinian leaders descended into new recriminations over who may have been involved in the demise of the former president.

Coming two weeks before a meeting that is expected to overhaul the leadership of Fatah, the party of Arafat and President Mahmoud Abbas, the accusations underscore a growing animosity that threatens the movement’s stability.

Portraying a dictator, PA president Abbas ousts another parliamentarian from Fatah movement

 

Coming to the defense of the latest expelled Palestinian Legislative Council leader, Mohammed Dahlan told the BBC on Sunday that no one has the authority to oust Fatah members from the party. “He who thinks he can expel members from Fatah should know that he does not possess such authority,” Dahlan said.

“Jihad Tummaleh is expelled from Fatah,” read an official Fatah memo.

These “other” Palestinians live in Arab countries such as Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, and their many serious grievances are evidently of no interest to the international community. Israeli Defense Minister seeks direct dialogue with pro-coexistence Palestinian public

Nearly a century after the Balfour Declaration expressed British support for the Jewish State in Palestine, Palestinian leaders are petitioning the Arab League for assistance in bringing criminal charges against the UK for being the facilitator of the ‘Palestinian Catastrophe.’

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas called for Britain to be prosecuted for the 1917 Balfour Declaration. The statements were made during an Arab League meeting in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott on Sunday.

He also called on Arab League members to assist him in pursuing this legal action.
