An Israeli strike on Syria that killed six members of the Iranian-proxy Hezbollah terrorist organization also killed six Iranian solders and commanders, including an Iranian general.

“The Israeli strike killed six Iranian soldiers, including commanders, as well as the six members of Hezbollah. They were all in a convoy of three cars,” a source close to the Shia Islamist group told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Two decades after Israeli spies helped Syrian Jews whisk ancient Hebrew Bibles from Damascus to Jerusalem, Israel’s national library asked an Israeli court on Monday to grant it custodianship over the manuscripts — a move that could spark an ownership battle over some of the Syrian Jewish community’s most important treasures.

Known as the Crowns of Damascus, the nine leather-bound parchment books — some featuring microscopic calligraphy and gold-leaf illuminations — were written mostly in Spain and Italy between 700 and 1,000 years ago. Continue Reading »

Arabic-language press reports alleged IAF strike targeted sites storing Russian-made advanced Syrian missiles for Hezbollah.

Two Hezbollah activists were killed Sunday in what foreign sources have said was an Israeli airstrike on military targets in Syria, the Al Arabiya news channel reported Monday. The report contradicts earlier claims by Syrian security forces, who said Sunday that there had been no casualties in the attack.

REPORT: Israel Air Force strikes allegedly targeted S-300 missile launchers en route to Hezbollah near Damascus airport, in Dimas & near Lebanese border.

 

Syrian state television said on Sunday that Israeli jets had bombed areas near Damascus international airport and in the town of Dimas, near the border with Lebanon.

Hezbollah accuses Israel of assassinating 5 nuclear engineers in Syria

Hezbollah believes that Syrian rebels, acting on behalf of Israel, were behind the killing of the 5 nuclear scientists, of which one was Iranian.

 

Hezbollah is blaming Israel for the deaths of five nuclear engineers, four Syrians and one Iranian, on Monday in Damascus.

Initial Syrian reports said that four Syrians were killed in an ambush, but later Syrian state television admitted that a fifth scientist, an Iranian, was also among the victims.

The five were killed after gunmen opened fire on their bus in an area not affected by the fighting between rebel groups and Syrian President Bashar Assad’s forces.

3 Israeli Arabs reportedly entered Syria to join Islamic jihad

According to a report in a local Nazareth magazine, the families of the three men tried to have them arrested before they crossed the Turkish-Syrian border.

Four residents of Yafia, a town near Nazareth, left Israel for Turkey during Eid al-Adha earlier this month with the intent of enlisting with the rebel groups in Syria, or with the Islamic State, according to a report in a local Nazareth paper.

Talking to senior sources, the Independent reported that “Irish soldiers would have been killed or taken hostage by Islamist extremists if it wasn’t for the military intervention of the Israeli army during last week’s battle to save besieged UN soldiers.”

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) bombed several terror targets in the city of Quneitra, Syria overnight Tuesday, following a volley of rockets on the Golan Heights, Syrian media reported.

Between four and twelve people were killed in the airstrike; exact numbers have varied among news outlets.

Israel Air Force strikes Syria & Gaza in response to fire

 

Fire originating from Syrian territory was directed towards IDF military post on Mount Hermon in Israel’s northern Golan Heights.

 

The Israeli military said it fired into Syria on Monday morning in response to high trajectory force that struck the northern Golan Heights.

According to the Israel Defense Force, no one was wounded in the shooting from the Syrian side, which landed near a military post at Mount Hermon earlier Monday morning, and no damage was incurred.

Initially, the army said it responded with artillery fire.

Brussels Assassin Nabbed by French Police Still in Possession of AK-47 & Baseball-Hat

 

In a routine customs inspection, French Police in Marseilles arrest Mehdi Nemmouche, a 29-year-old French citizen, carrying an AK-47 assault rifle.

 

 

French police have arrested a suspect over the shooting last week at the Brussels Jewish Museum who apparently has ties to jihadi elements in Syria, a local media reported on Sunday.
