Jordanians calls to fight terror by eliminating curricula of ideas that ‘denigrate life, aggrandize death’

 

One Jordanian educator wrote, “Our schools spread extremism, as do our universities. Sometimes, a child or youth returns from school or university with horrid ideas that shock even his parents.”

According to unofficial statistics, about 4,000 young Jordanians have so far joined the armed organizations in Syria and Iraq, a figure that places Jordan second only to Tunisia in the number of citizens who have joined these organizations, MEMRI (The Middle East Media Research Institute) has reported. The media watchdog group has published an in depth report focusing on calls in Jordan’s media on the Education Ministry to reform school curricula in light of the problem of youth gravitating toward extremist Islamic ideology. After continued vehicular terror-attacks on crowds by Arabs, bus stops in Jerusalem to be fortified

 

After the initiative proved effective in the West Bank, PM Netanyahu instructs officials to fortify 300 bus-stops in the Jewish capital with concrete barriers, following latest vehicular terror-attack that left 11 Jewish Israelis wounded in Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday decided to fortify 300 bus stations in Jerusalem after a terrorist from East Jerusalem rammed his car into people waiting at a bus stop at the western entrance to the capital, wounding 11 people.

The prime minister held a consultation with Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz, Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, and Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat in the wake of the attack, in which he instructed them to place concrete barriers in front of hundreds of Jerusalem bus stations.

European Union policy chief says EU ‘united’ in labeling only Jewish products

 

Despite Jerusalem freezing diplomatic ties with the EU, its foreign policy chief said after a meeting with the Union’s FMs that the EU is adamant in maintaining product labeling from only the Israeli disputed areas, and claims it isn’t a boycott.

EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini led a meeting with EU foreign ministers on Monday, in which the officials reiterated they will not drop their plan to label Jewish products from Judea, Samaria, eastern Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.

The EU is “united on these technical guidelines on the indication of origin, which is in no way a boycott,” Mogherini said after the meeting according to Associated Press.

IDF hits 2 Hamas military targets in retaliation for Gaza rocket fire on Israeli town

The Israel Air Force (IAF) struck two Hamas terrorist sites overnight between Sunday and Monday, hitting targets in central and northern Gaza, following a Gazan rocket attack on Southern Israel  that occurred on Sunday night. There were no injuries reported in the rocket strike.

Israeli warships armed with Iron Dome anti-missile system will protect gas reserves at sea

Israel’s “Sa’ar 5” warships already equipped with the Barak 1 missile defense system, will incorporate the Iron Dome as well, until new warships reached in a deal with Germany arrive in 2019.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) will install its successful Iron Dome missile defence system on warships protecting Israel’s off-shore gas drilling platforms, a temporary measure until new warships acquired in a deal with Germany arrive.

Israel has huge and mostly untapped gas fields that cover some 23,000 square km (9,000 square miles) of sea, more than Israel’s territory on land.

IDF Shoot & Neutralize Female Arab Terrorist While Attempting To Stab Israeli

A female attacker was shot and wounded by IDF soldiers near Kiryat Arba on Sunday, after she tried and failed to stab an Israeli civilian, the IDF reported Sunday.

The incident took place on the road leading from Kiryat Arba to the Jewish settlement in Hebron. The IDF spokesperson’s office said that soldiers saw a Palestinian woman with a knife try to attack an Israeli civilian and opened fire, wounding and subduing the attacker.

The woman was evacuated to Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem in moderate to serious condition. Continue Reading »

UK apologizes after detaining IDF reserve officer for war crimes

An IDF officer in reserves who fought in Operation Protective Edge in the summer of 2014 was detained upon landing in the UK a few weeks ago due to a complaint made against him that he was involved in war crimes, Ynet has learned.

Switzerland arrested 2 Syrian nationals planning chemical terror attack

 

Two men with Syrian passports nabbed on suspicions of transporting ‘explosives & toxic gases’ in Geneva, possibly for an attack on the UN headquarters.

Swiss authorities said Saturday that two people of Syrian origin had been arrested on suspicion of transporting “explosives and toxic gases” as part of a probe into a terror threat.

The two suspects arrested Friday are accused of the “manufacture, concealment and transport of explosives and toxic gases,” the federal prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

Egypt’s Alwatan newspaper published an article about the ‘most dangerous’ Arab-language Israeli Facebook pages, warning its young readers of the pages’ “Israeli pursuits”.

The article, titled “Five Arabic language Israeli pages that you should stay away from”, begins by describing the history of “Zionist plots” dating back to the 19th century, particularly “the takeover of Palestinian lands using religious justification” to create a political entity, Israel’s Ynet News reports.

Vatican releases landmark document: Catholics should not endeavor to convert Jews

 

 

Catholics should not try and convert Jews and should work with them to fight anti-Semitism, the Vatican said Thursday in a major new document that drew the Church further from the strained relations with Judaism of the past.

Delegates of the American Anthropological Association recently passed a resolution to boycott Israeli academic institutions at their annual conference in Denver, Colorado. Now the association’s 12,000 members worldwide will be asked to approve or reject the decision. If approved, the boycott will focus only on Israel’s academic institutions at first, but it could snowball into legitimizing additional boycotts that will hurt Israel’s image and undermine its social, industrial and economic fortitude.

NGO Monitor Informed Danish Parliament It’s Inadvertently Funding Israel’s Destruction

 

NGO Monitor addressed a special parliament session, warning them that huge amount of funds are covertly going to NGOs that acts against explicit Danish policies.

The NGO Monitor research institution on Wednesday took part in a special session of the Danish Parliament, and told Danish lawmakers the supposedly humanitarian funds their country is handing over to local NGOs is actually advancing anti-peace agendas.

Shaun Sacks, a researcher at the independent Jerusalem-based NGO Monitor, addressed the Foreign Affairs Committee and Foreign Policy Committee in Copenhagen.
