UN Human Rights Council lambastes Azariya’s manslaughter sentence

 

A UN Human Rights Council representative, in a short written statement, criticized the Tel Aviv Military Court and its 18-month prison sentence handed down to Elor Azariya, for shooting dead a wounded terrorist, as ‘excessively lenient.’

A representative of the UN Human Rights Council heavily criticized the sentencing of soldier Elor Azariya this week.

Azariya, who was convicted of manslaughter for shooting a wounded terrorist, was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

According to UN human rights spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani, the sentence imposed on Azariya was “excessively lenient.” Continue Reading »

Major #BDSfail: British universities cancel ‘Apartheid Week’

 

In a blow to the BDS movement, 2 UK universities cancel the events of the anti-Israel ‘Apartheid Week’ based on Britain’s recently adopted definition of anti-Semitism, that includes incitement against Jews by demonizing Israel.

The University of Central Lancashire and University College London in Britain were forced to cancel the Israel Apartheid Week events, which were supposed to take place next week, following the intervention of Friends of Israel associations in the UK.

The cancellation of these events is part of the struggle against the Israel boycott movement on campuses.

The main reason for the cancellation is the fact that Britain has recently adopted a new definition of anti-Semitism that also includes incitement against Jews in the form of the demonization of Israel. Continue Reading »

PA charges Israel with ‘terrorism’ for closing Hamas affiliated school in Jerusalem

 

The PA’s public diplomacy bureau said school closure was demonstrative of Israel’s “terrorist activities”, calling Israel’s claims of incitement in the school’s curriculum as “lies”.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) on Thursday blasted as “terrorism” Israel’s decision to close an Arab elementary school in Jerusalem due to its spreading of incitement.

The Al Nkhba School in the Sur Baher neighborhood of eastern Jerusalem was ordered to be closed after it was discovered that the school had been established by officials affiliated  with the Hamas terrorist organization, and that the curriculum included severe incitement against the State of Israel. CNN outs Trump pick for Israel envoy for accusing US liberal Jews as ‘not a pro-Israel force’

CNN reported on Thursday that inflammatory rhetoric said by President Trump’s nominee for US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, had been focused mainly against J-Street and liberal American Jews, saying they ‘don’t support Israel, don’t support traditional Jewish values.’

India accepts $2.5 billion missile defense deal with Israel

 

The Indian gov’t has accepted a $2.5 billion missile deal, capable of shooting down enemy aircraft at a range of 50-70 kilometers, to replace their country’s aging air defenses.

The Indian government has cleared a $2.5 billion deal for its army to buy a medium-range surface-to-air missile defense system from Israel Aerospace Industries, another step toward signing the contract, Indian media reported on Thursday.

IDF report: Israeli jet downs Hamas drone over Mediterranean

 

The drone, operated by Hamas militants, was identified immediately after takeoff from Gaza and was under constant IAF surveillance.
– The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit reported, “The IDF will not allow any airspace violation and will act resolutely against any such attempt.”

The Israeli Defense Forces on Thursday intercepted a Hamas operated drone launched from the Gaza Strip.

According to a statement from the army, the drone was shot down over the Mediterranean sea by an Israeli air force jet and crashed into the water, preventing infiltration into Israeli airspace.

16 year-old Palestinian ‘hero’ of anti-Israel propaganda film unexpectedly replied he doesn’t hate IDF soldiers, when asked to answer on-stage questions following its screening.

The above video is an excerpt from the leftist propaganda film “The Boy From H2” that seeks to portray Israeli soldiers as heartless and abusive toward the Palestinian Arabs.

The film was such a hit among liberals in Israel that the left-wing NGO B’Tselem entered it in the International Film Festival that concluded yesterday in Berlin.

But “The Boy From H2” was a flop on the international stage, and suffered even more disappointment when the “hero” of the documentary, Mohammed Burkan, who was 12 when it was filmed in 2011, came out and said he isn’t angry at the Israeli soldiers. Continue Reading »

First Christian Arab qualifies for IAF elite pilots course

An Israeli Christian Arab was among the cadets who began the Israeli Air Force 179th pilots course three months ago, Israel Hayom has learned. The young man, whose name cannot be revealed, is the first Christian Arab to make it into the prestigious course.

Report: IAF jets destroy Hezbollah ordnance at Syrian army outposts in Damascus suburb

 

Again an aerial attack is attributed to Israel, this one on the Syrian army’s 3rd Division in al-Katif, with Lebanese press quoting officials reporting Hezbollah military buses were destroyed.

According to the reports, Israeli warplanes were circling Lebanese airspace in the Baalbek area at around 3am Wednesday, carrying out the attack from over Lebanon.Officials cited by Lebanese media estimated the attack was targeting Hezbollah military buses.

In a counter statement issued by Hezbollah, they claimed that the reports stating that the Israeli attacks targeted Hezbollah’s outposts in Lebanon or Syria are incorrect.

The artifacts depicting Judaism’s sacred seven branched candelabra used in the Temple in Jerusalem, are being loaned by nearly 20 museums around the world, including Paris’ Louvre & London’s National Gallery.

The Vatican and Rome’s Jewish community on Monday presented an ambitious exhibition on the menorah which will bring together 130 works featuring the iconic Jewish candelabrum, an ancient symbol of the faith.

Jerusalem expands by 250 acres, 2000 new homes in new residential neighborhood
