Israeli authorities assist in 300 kg of cocaine bust in Sao Paulo

 

The Brazilian press reports a local man & Israeli, suspected of being part of a drug smuggling network, were arrested in São Paulo with the aid of Israeli authorities.

Brazil’s GloboNews reported on Friday that the country’s federal police has arrested two men—one Brazilian and one Israeli—in São Paulo. The two reportedly had 300 kilograms of cocaine in their possession at the time of their arrest, and are suspected of belonging to a drug smuggling network.

According to GloboNews, the arrest was performed in cooperation with the local Israeli consulate.

EU considering dropping Hamas from bloc’s terror blacklist

 

The European Court of Justice advocate-general suggests that, “The council cannot rely on facts and evidence found in press articles and information from the internet,” in keeping Hamas on the sanctions list.

The European Union appears on its way to declaring that Hamas is not a terrorist organization.

An advocate-general at the European Court of Justice, whose advice is usually followed by judges, recommended on Thursday that they reject an appeal by the Council of Europe against the lower EU court’s decisions in late 2014 to remove both Hamas and the Tamil Tigers of Sri Lanka from the sanctions list due to flawed procedures. Palestinian media reports 3 Gazans wounded by IDF fire during border confrontation

At least three Palestinians were injured on Friday in clashes with Israeli troops on the Gaza border, the Ma’an Palestinian news agency says.

Ma’an quotes an Israeli army spokesperson as saying that “riot dispersal means” had been used during “violent riots” in order to “prevent infiltration.”

Palestinian youth neutralized in knife-attack at bus-stop near Hevron

 

A 14 year-old Palestinian terrorist was shot in the foot by Israeli security forces while attempting to carry out a stabbing attack at the Elias junction bus stop.

On Friday afternoon, a 14-year-old Muslim terrorist attempted to carry out a stabbing attack at Elias Junction, near Kiryat Arba.

Nobody was hurt, and the terrorist was successfully neutralized.

After rocky launch, Israel’s Ofek 11 spy satellite fully operational

 

The head of the Israel Aircraft Industries space division said following initial difficulties after the launch, that Israel’s latest homemade satellite, Ofek 11 is operational and taking fabulous photographs, ‘You should smile when you look up.’

US embassy in Tel Aviv: Caught between a bottle of wine and a hard place

 

Although some US states have recently passed legislation against the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel, the US embassy had this to say after being made aware their holiday baskets had a Cabernet Sauvignon from the Zion Winery in Mishor Adumim: “We would not have included the wine had we known that it was from the settlements.”

India successfully conducts latest test of jointly developed Barak 8 missile system

University of California at Berkeley reinstates ‘Anti-Israel’ course

 

The university reinstated the clearly anti-Israel course, accepting its US-born, Palestinian creator’s explanation, that it does not cross the line into political advocacy and organizing, claiming the study program is purely educational.

Just one week after the University of California, Berkeley, suspended the student-led course, “Palestine: A Settler Colonial Analysis,” the Bay Area university has decided to reinstate the controversy-raising class, according to The Guardian.
