According to a report Saturday in Hurriyet Daily News, an Iranian delegation will visit Turkey “in the near future” to discuss the two countries’ trade relations, while Turkish Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan is set to travel to Tehran in mid-January. Continue Reading »

On Saturday night amid a “day of rage” in which mass protests opposed the “Prawer-Begin Plan” to organize illegal Bedouin settlement in the Negev, Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman (Likud-Beytenu) called the violent protests “serious albeit expected.”

The Court of Appeals of Colmar near Strasbourg fined each of the group’s 12 members individually on Wednesday for their participation in a pro-boycott activity in 2009-2010, which the court qualified as “provocation to discrimination.” The court also gave the activists a suspended jail sentence, according to a report by the CRIF umbrella group of French Jewish communities.

Secret service agents arrested Mustapha Fawaz, Abdullah Tahini, Talal Ahmad Roda and Hussain Nurudeen Kossdi between May 16 and May 28.

A Palestinian was shot to death Saturday morning by Border Guard volunteers, who were searching after illegal aliens in the area of Yarkon Cemetery in Petah Tikva. The Border Guard stated that a policeman shot the Palestinian after the latter attempted to stab him.

Iranian IAEA Envoy Attacks Israeli ‘Aggression’

According to an Iranian envoy, Israel is “sitting on 200 nuclear warheads” as it is “crying wolf” about Iran’s nukes.

Iran’s envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) slammed Israel on Friday, accusing the Jewish state of attacking its neighbors and committing atrocities.

“Israel, sitting on 200 nuclear warheads all of them targeted at Muslim cities … is crying wolf about nuclear proliferation,” the envoy, Reza Najafi, told the UN nuclear agency.

Iran has apparently launched the largest submarine in its naval fleet, satellite imagery from IHS Jane’s revealed on Wednesday, in what the defense analysis firm called “a major milestone for Iran’s naval industry.”

Police and Border Guard officers arrested four Arab youths, aged 15 to 20, in connection to the stone throwing incident Thursday that left 2-year-old Avigail Ben Zion moderately wounded.

According to security forces, after the incident the group fled the scenes and its members were arrested when they returned to their respective homes. Police said the incident was most likely nationalistically motivated. 

According to reports, the infant, Avigail, was hit with a stone that was thrown in the direction of the family car, as her mother, Shirin Ben Tzion, was driving in Jerusalem. Continue Reading »
