Report: WATCH Policeman who shot neutralized ‘scissor terrorist’ cleared of ‘wrongful death’

The policeman who was questioned by Justice Department’s Department for Investigations of Policemen over the killing of a terrorist will apparently not face criminal prosecution, according to Channel 2.

The investigation was launched following the so-called “scissors terror attack” last month near the Mahane Yehuda market in Jerusalem, by two teenage Arab girls. Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein and State Attorney Shai Nitzan decided to launch the investigation based on suspicion that the policeman shot one of the terrorists when she was already on the ground after having been “neutralized.”

Israel Police arrest 2 Palestinians from Jerusalem for inciting to have Jews killed via Facebook

 

According to the police, the 2 Palestinians regularly sought attackers in the capital’s Arab neighborhoods by posting images of knives, and encouraging them to stab Jewish residents.

 

Two Palestinian men in their 20s were arrested by police on Wednesday morning in the flashpoint east Jerusalem Arab neighborhood of Silwan for using Facebook to incite violence against Jews in the capital.

The unidentified suspects were arrested in their homes following a two-week undercover investigation carried out by detectives, police said.

“They were using Facebook to call on people to carry out attacks, and arrested as part of the ongoing operation to find suspects involved in using the Internet to incite violence,” Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld. Continue Reading »

Israeli authorities on Monday prevented the Islamic Waqf in Jerusalem from installing security cameras in the Temple Mount compound. A senior source said the move constituted provocation and stressed that security cameras will be set up around the holy site only after the move was coordinated with Israel.

Three Arabs were arrested in a joint operation by the Israel Police and the Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet), it was cleared for publication Friday, for preparing a weapons cache to use against security forces on the Temple Mount.

The Jerusalem District Attorney filed an indictment against the three – two adults and one minor from the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber – in the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court.

39 Palestinians arrested by Police for throwing rocks, firebombs over 48 hours

Twenty-seven Palestinian suspects accused of throwing rocks and firebombs at officers in flashpoint Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem were arrested during an overnight police sweep that started late Saturday night, police said on Sunday.

The crackdown brought the total number of arrests over the trailing 48 hours to 39, according to the police.

From Friday to Saturday afternoon, 12 Palestinians were arrested for attacking Border Police officers with firebombs in Jebl Mukaber, and rioting in Shuafat, Isawiya, Wadi Joz and Ras el-Amud. Continue Reading »

Israel Police Prohibits Palestinian PM From Entering Temple Mount – Sent Home

 

Israel Police stopped PA Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah’s convoy & returned to Ramallah, as he planned visiting the Temple Mount.

Israel on Friday prevented an official Palestinian Authority (PA) convoy, which included PA Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, from entering Jerusalem on its way to the Temple Mount.

The convoy was stopped at the Hizme checkpoint and ordered to return to Ramallah.

The incident occurred amid continued clashes and violence on the Temple Mount and throughout eastern Jerusalem.

Arabs attack Jerusalem police on Temple Mount for 3rd straight day

Rioting broke out Tuesday for a third straight day at the Temple Mount as police came to secure the contested Jerusalem holy site for Jewish visitors on the second day of Rosh Hashana.

When Israeli security forces entered the plaza of the site dozens of  masked Palestinian youth met them with a barrage of stones, blocks, and firecrackers, police said.

King Abdullah II of Jordan threatens Israel on Jerusalem ‘provocation’

Arab League Threatens Israel with ICC Action Over “Judaization” of Al-Aqsa

 

Arab League FM threatens to take int’l legal actions to prevent Israeli activity on the Temple Mount, including going to the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

The Arab League on Sunday warned against the “Judaization of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel” and called for action against the Jewish state, Channel 2 News reported.

The condemnation came after masked Muslim rioters hurled rocks and fireworks at police on the Temple Mount, as well as firebombs near two entrances to the site.

Palestinians barricaded themselves Sunday morning, just before Rosh Hashanah, inside the mosque on the Temple Mount. Police forces broke into the compound and confiscated some of the equipment brought there by the Palestinians.

Netanyahu: Jerusalem to reevaluate open-fire orders on hostiles throwing rocks & fire-bombs

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a special high-level security meeting on Wednesday where it was decided to increase security forces in Jerusalem and on Road 443 from the capital to Mod’in, and weigh new open-fire orders on those throwing rocks and fire-bombs.

The meeting, which included Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, Transportation and Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz, General Security Services (Shin Bet) head Yoram Cohen, and other security officials was called in light of a recent spike in terror incidents in the capital and on 443, which is one of the major roads to and from the capital. Israel’s Police Commissioner candidate, Brig. Gen. Gal Hirsch wrote on his Facebook account after being hospitalized himself by ‘rock-throwers’, that Arabs that throw rocks are terrorists and should be treated as such.
