It’s Over: Turkish court stops litigation against IDF commanders

 

In accordance with the reconciliation deal made by Israel & Turkey this June to normalize bilateral ties, Istanbul court drops case against IDF commanders being tried in absentia over the Marmara raid.

A court in Istanbul on Friday dropped a case against four top former Israeli commanders who were being tried in absentia over the 2010 raid of the Mavi Marmara ship bound for Gaza, AFP reported.

Dropping the charges against the Israeli commanders was a key pillar of a deal agreed between Israel and Turkey this June to normalize bilateral ties.

Saudi journalist suggests Israeli Arabs come work in Saudi Arabia to enhance bilateral ties

 

Established Saudi journalist Abdulrahman Al-Rashed, tells Jewish journalist Joseph Braude of the US conservative think tank, the Hudson Institute, that hiring Israeli Arabs could be a positive step toward establishing official relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.

Israel grants 700 Gazans entry permits for Christmas holiday

 

In keeping with tradition, Jerusalem relaxes entry restrictions for Gaza Christians to visit family, or fly via Israel, during the holiday season.

Israel will allow 700 Christian Gazans to visit their families in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, while also allowing 400 Gazans to travel abroad through the Ben Gurion airport.

Israel restricts travel between the two Palestinian territories, citing security concerns. Such restrictions are usually relaxed for Christians during the holiday season.

Lebanese Billionaire Builds Warships for Israel’s Navy

 

Shipbuilding group Abu Dhabi MAR, owned and managed by Iskandar Safa, a Lebanese, is building much of Israel’s navy.

Last week it was reported that Iran holds nearly 5 percent of shares in the German conglomerate supplying Israel’s submarines.

Perhaps more surprising is that the conglomerate in question, ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, works hand-in-hand with Abu Dhabi MAR to provide naval surface vessels to various nations, including Israel.

Israel Defense Minister: Israeli strikes prevent Syrian chemical weapons transfer to Hezbollah

Two Hamas terrorists died in another terror-tunnel collapse

 

In an official Hamas statement issued Wednesday, the terror organization that rules the Gaza acknowledged that two of its members were killed and another injured when a “resistance tunnel” leading from Gaza to Israel collapsed on them.

Two Hamas terrorists were killed while working on an attack tunnel intended for an infiltration from Gaza into Israel collapsed in the territory near the border with Israel, according to a statement issued by the group.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said another Palestinian was injured in the incident. Hamas said they were working in a “resistance tunnel.”

Knife-yielding Palestinian terrorist shot dead while attempting to stab IDF soldiers

 

An Arab Palestinian terrorist, who arrived at the Tapuah Junction bus stop and tried to stab the IDF soldiers, was neutralized after refusing to approach the soldiers.

A terrorist attempted Thursday morning to attack and stab soldiers standing at the Tapuah Junction bus stop. The terrorist was shot and killed immediately. There were no reports of casualties.

The initial investigation by police revealed that the terrorist, an 18-year-old from Kalkiliya, had aroused the suspicions of Border police at the junction. He got off a bus and began running quickly towards them. Continue Reading »

Palestinians irritated at perceived lack of Israeli appreciation for PA firefighting assistance

Abbas’ gov’t expressed its displeasure over what it considers Israel’s lack of appreciation at receiving Palestinian firefighters.

The Palestinian Authority was reportedly irked that it did not receive what it saw as a proper response from Israel thanking its firefighters for their efforts to battle raging blazes across the country in recent days.
