Iranian Ayatolla preaches Albert Einstein was Shiite Muslim

Iranian Ayatolla Mahadavi Kani explains in a video circulating on the internet that the Jewish scientist Albert Einstein, proved his Theory of Relativity in understanding the ascension of the Prophet Mohammed.

An Iranian cleric claims that the Albert Einstein, the great 20th century scientist who developed the Theory of Relativity, was a Shiitie Muslim, Israel Radio reported on Saturday.

The report cites a video by Ayatolla Mahadavi Kani, described as the head of the Assembly of Experts in the Islamic Republic of Iran, who says that there are documents proving the Jewish scientist embraced Shiite Islam and was an avid follower of Ja’far Al-Sadiq, an eighth-century Shi’i imam.

Injured Ukrainians flown to Israel for medical treatment

 

9 injured Ukrainian citizens were flown to Israel by the Jewish community of Ukraine, to receive medical care.

Nine Ukrainian citizens landed Friday night at Ben Gurion International Airport and transferred to Israeli medical centers for treatment.

Earlier in the day, Russian news agency Interfax reported they were evacuated and will be treated at Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot and Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem. The hospitals have confirmed the reports.

All of the Ukrainians suffered gunshot wounds, and at least two are in serious condition. Continue Reading »

In case of deterioration of the Ukrainian conflict, Israeli rescue organizations are training the Jewish Hatzalah (aid & rescue) unit in Kiev to deal with mass casualties.

 

 

The United Hatzalah and ZAKA rescue organizations are training Jews in Kiev’s Hatzalah so they can respond to mass casualty emergencies in the troubled and violent Ukraine if the crisis escalates.

On Monday, Ottawa accepted a report tabled last year that called on the federal government to “officially recognize the experience of Jewish refugees who were displaced from states in the Middle East and North Africa after 1948.”

The federal cabinet approved the report March 3, according to the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA).

Equal burden means that every Israeli citizen must serve in the IDF. In practice, however, 67 percent of the Jewish community and just 50 percent of all Israelis perform national service. To put it negatively, 50 percent of young Israelis are exempt from this burden, while the other half of society has to carry the extra weight.

The ‘Blue Helmets’ comprising of 40 men & women who are not all Jewish & that include 5 ex-Israeli soldiers, says Delta the leader, an Orthodox Jew in his late 30s who wears a kippah under his helmet.

Norwegian YMCA decides to boycott Israel

The Norwegian YMCA-YWCA ‘encourages broad economic boycott of goods & services from Israel to pressure the Israeli gov’t to end the illegal occupation of Palestine’.

Norway’s Young Men and Women’s Christian Association aligned itself with the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel, or BDS.

The Norwegian YMCA-YWCA “encourages broad economic boycott of goods and services from Israel and Israeli settlements to pressure the Israeli government to follow up on U.N. resolutions and end the illegal occupation of Palestine,” the organization wrote in a statement published on its Norwegian-language website last week.

Online petition demands Zuckerberg act on Facebook antisemitism

Swedish Jew who launched online initiative gets roughly 17,000 signatures urging Facebook to follow it’s own TOS by taking down “vile, horrific” antisemitic posts.

 

 

An online petition urging Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to help stamp out anti-Semitism on the social networking site had garnered nearly 17,000 signatures by Friday.

The petition is the brainchild of Anna Berg, a Swedish Jew who told Maariv newspaper this week that she has long been battling anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism in the Scandinavian country.

Israeli PM off to Silicon Valley to meet WhatsApp co-founder

Prime Minister Netanyahu is scheduled to sign a “strategic cooperation” agreement with California’s Governor Jerry Brown to promote closer Israel-California economic ties.

 

 

Last week Jewish WhatsApp cofounder Jan Koum sold his company to Facebook for $19 billion; next week he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to discuss hi-tech opportunities in Israel.

WhatsAppNetanyahu, traveling Sunday to Washington and a meeting with US President Barack Obama, is to go to Silicon Valley on Wednesday in an effort to promote hi-tech investments in Israel. In addition to Koum, Netanyahu is expected to meet with heads of Apple, Flextronics, Linkedin, Ebay and the Sequoia Venture Capital fund. Continue Reading »

MK Rina Frenkel tells PM: ‘Bring Ukraine’s Jews to Israel’

 

Rina Frenkel, the Yesh Atid MK who once lived in Kiev, lobbied to Netanyahu for “a formulated, budgeted gov’t plan to bring the Jews of Ukraine to Israel on aliya.”

 

 

 

The government must prepare an emergency plan to bring Ukrainian Jews to Israel, MK Rina Frenkel (Yesh Atid) wrote to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Thursday.

Following recent anti-Semitic incidents in Ukraine, including the firebombing of a synagogue Monday, Frenkel, said she felt a responsibility to get involved, since she made Aliya from Kiev in 1990.

IDF goes on alert on Lebanese border following Hezbollah threats

 

US Secretary of State Kerry indirectly addresses strike, says US is aware Syria is smuggling weapons to Hezbollah that pose a threat to Israel.

After Hezbollah has threatened to retaliate against Israel for its alleged role in a strike on a weapons convoy en route from Syria to Lebanon, the IDF Northern Command decided Wednesday evening to increase the state of alert for forces stationed along the border with Lebanon, fearing of retaliatory fire.
