Israeli High Court blocks repatriating body of a Palestinian killed by IDF

Israel’s High Court of Justice rules on filed petition from the parents of Lt. Hadar Goldin, who said it is “a moral imperative for the Israeli government to stop rewarding Hamas” with one sided return of the dead.

The High Court of Justice on Thursday granted a petition to stop the state from repatriating the body of a Palestinian killed in a security incident off the Gaza Strip’s coast in February.

The petition was filed by Simcha and Leah Goldin, whose son, Lt. Hadar Goldin of the Givati Brigade, was killed in Gaza during the 2014 conflict. Continue Reading »

UNIFIL Spokesman: Israel, Lebanon hold ‘near-daily’ meetings to defuse tension

A spokesman for the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon said that since the current situation along the Israel-Lebanon border is “very sensitive” both sides have been holding meetings “almost on a daily basis… The dialogue is open. No one has ever walked out.”

Czech President Milos Zeman vows to expedite embassy relocation to Jerusalem

Czech President Milos Zeman on Thursday doubled down on his intent to see his country’s embassy in Israel relocate from Tel Aviv Jerusalem, saying he plans to push the move through.

Leaders from two important Arab nations have advised Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to accept the peace deal that will be offered by the US, two Abbas advisors told i24NEWS on Thursday.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi both told Abbas that he has no choice but to be pragmatic, according to sources. Abbas was told that Arabs also must accept the new realities and acquiesce to the demands of the US under President Donald Trump.

Saudi crown prince meets Israeli officials on normalizing Israeli-Saudi ties

A London-based Arabic daily reported Wednesday that the Saudi Crown Prince discussed normalizing Israeli-Saudi ties and President Trump’s planned “deal of the century” with Israeli officials in Egypt.

Israel passes first hurdle in Knesset to legalize cannabis

Israel’s Minister of Public Security is spearheading effort to end criminal proceeding for the use of marijuana in private. With the bill having passed unanimously in its first reading in the Knesset, it’s highly likely, average citizens caught with grass will no longer be stigmatized as criminals.

A bill that would legalize the use of cannabis passed unanimously in its first reading in the Knesset on Wednesday.

Currently, the law prohibits the usage of cannabis.

Knesset Caucus to Initiate Criminal Charges Against Senior Palestinian Official

With new proof of senior PA official’s incitement to kill Jews presented in a Knesset caucus, decision was taken to hold the Palestinian officials responsible, since they “cannot be allowed to promulgate incitement without legal proceedings being instituted against them.”

Report: Poland’s President & Prime Minister ‘persona non grata’ at White House

Because of Poland’s Holocaust Law, that criminalizes any blaming of Poland or its citizens for Nazi crimes, both President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will not be received by President Donald Trump or the White House should they visit the United States, according to a document by the Onet news site.

A leading news site in Poland reported that it had obtained documents suggesting that the country’s highest officials are not welcome at the White House over a law limiting discourse on World War II.

The documents, which the news site Onet did not describe in its March 5 report, mean that President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will not be received by President Donald Trump or any other member of the administration in the United States at all, the report said.
