Report: Iran tests advanced torpedo provoking Washington

 

US news outlets report the Iranian Navy tested an advanced submarine launched torpedo in the Strait of Hormuz, considered to be one of the world’s most strategically important shipping corridors.

US news sources reported Monday evening that Iran tested an advanced torpedo missile near the Strait of Hormuz.

Senior officials in the American security infrastructure told Fox News and NBC that the experiment was conducted within Iran’s maritime border and did not violate international law, but noted that it is considered to be another Iranian provocation following the increasing tensions between the states since President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Iran blocks Waze GPS navigation for being ‘Made in Israel’

 

Although the app is widely used among Iranian drivers, the Iranian news agency FARS reports a temporarily block of the GPS navigation application Waze is currently in effect due to gov’t concerns, since its development was in the Jewish State.

Authorities in Iran have temporarily blocked people from using the navigation app Waze because it was developed in Israel.

In a report publicized by the Iranian news agency FARS, it was stated that a final permanent decision regarding the use of the program will be made soon. As of now, the app is unavailable for download, and the actual use of the program is being blocked by the government. Continue Reading »

Saudi Arabia echoes Israeli warnings against Iran at Security Conference

 

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Turkey’s foreign minister joined Avigdor Lieberman and the Saudi Foreign Minister urging the international community to punish Iran’s aggression and activities that are undermining regional stability.

After years of drought, the water-starved country’s hateful politics can’t allow it to turn to the one country that could really save it.

 

Iran’s pistachio farms are dying of thirst.

That may not, in itself, seem like major news. But it has a greater significance.

After crude oil, pistachio nuts are Iran’s biggest export, with only the United States producing more. Yet a drought lasting years, along with uncontrolled pumping of water by farmers, has created a situation where the pistachio crop is drying up.

Iranian official exposes Palestinian President Abbas of being CIA collaborator

 

Iran and the Palestinian Authority’s last public spat came in February when Tehran announced it would bypass Abbas’ PA and send money directly to families whose children carried out armed attacks against Israelis.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), an Iranian diaspora opposition group, met in Paris on Saturday, renewing tensions between the Palestinian leadership and Iran.

Abbas meets Rajavi, the head of Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), in Paris.

Iran presents a greater danger to Gulf States and the stability of the Middle East than Israel, a high ranking official in the Bahrain government told Arab Media in recent comments.

During an interview with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Arabiya TV last Tuesday, Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said that Iran is currently the coastal kingdom’s “biggest problem” and added that his country will not “hesitate to defend” itself if necessary, according to a report by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). Report: Jordan thwarts Iranian-planned terror plot

Jordanian security forces reported to have  arrested foreigner possessing 45 kg of high-grade explosives in ‘most serious case in a decade’.

The Jordanian newspaper Al Rai reported Monday morning that Jordanian security forces had foiled a terror plot by a member of an Iranian-backed group.

According to the report, the suspect belongs to the Iranian Bayt al-Maqdis group – which is unrelated to the identically named Egyptian group has recently changed its moniker sworn allegiance to the Islamic State group.

The suspect reportedly holds Iraqi and Norwegian citizenship, was arrested in northern Jordan, and found to be in possession of large amounts of explosives. Continue Reading »

Iran establishes anti-Islamic State cartoon competition

Iran has launched an anti-Islamic State cartoon competition, inviting submissions from around the world to mock the jihadist group.

According to the state-run IRNA news agency, cartoonists were told by Iran’s House of Cartoon to focus on “the crimes committed by the Islamic State” and over 800 entries have been received so far from 40 different countries.

Of the 800 entries, some 280 works will be displayed on the streets of Tehran starting Sunday and will later be displayed in four different cultural centers in the city, including one which once displayed cartoons which focused on Holocaust denial. Continue Reading »

Iran has stopped funding the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization, which is already facing a severe financial crisis, the Palestinian daily Al-Quds reported on Wednesday.

REPORT: Israel Destroys SCUD Factory in Sudan But Lost UAV In Operation

Sudan claims it shot down Israeli UAV, but denies Arab media reports that the IAF destroyed an Iranian SCUD missile factory & warehouse near Khartoum.

The Sudanese army claimed it shot down an Israeli drone, after Arab media reported on Wednesday that Israeli war planes struck sites around the Sudanese capital of Khartoum, destroying weapons sites apparently destined for Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

The London-based Arabic-language Al-Araby Al-Jadeed and other Arab news sources reported the strikes, saying they hit a factory producing long-range Scud missiles, a rocket storage site, as well as a convoy that was leaving the military site in Omdurman to the north of Khartoum.
