Israel’s President Welcomes US National Security Advisor John Bolton

Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin warmly welcomed John Bolton to Jerusalem, saying how much he personally appreciated all that he’s done for Israel over the years, “and we know that you’re going to do more.”

United States National Security Advisor John Bolton received an especially warm welcome when he called on President Reuven Rivlin on Tuesday.

Rivlin is always happy to welcome visitors to “Jerusalem the capital of Israel, the eternal capital of the Jewish People,” but in Bolton’s case, it was also with the knowledge that Bolton is “a great friend of the State of Israel and the Jewish People.” Continue Reading »

Iran unveils its domestically-built fighter jet

Iranian state television debuted Iran’s new domestically made fighter jet called Kowsar, capable of carrying limited weaponry, and could be used for short aerial support missions.
– Iranian President Hassan Rouhani: “Why does the United States not attack us? … because it knows the consequences.”

Iran unveiled a new fighter jet on Tuesday, state media reported, as tensions rise between Tehran and regional rivals over conflicts in the Middle East.

Iranian general accuses Israel of stealing Iran’s clouds

After head of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization, Brigadier General Gholam Reza Jalali charged Israel with stealing Iran’s clouds and snow, the country’s meteorological service weather chief, Ahad Vazife rebutted, saying, “On the basis of meteorological knowledge, it is not possible for a country to steal snow or clouds.”

An Iranian general on Monday accused Israel of manipulating weather to prevent rain over the Islamic republic, alleging his country was facing cloud “theft,” before being contradicted by the nation’s weather chief.

German Chancellor Merkel: EU must deal with Iran’s ‘aggressive tendencies’

After having met with Jordan’s King Abdullah, Germany’s chancellor said definitively, “Iran’s aggressive tendencies must not only be discussed, but rather we need solutions urgently,” acknowledging their roguish presence in Syria, in the war in Yemen and Iran’s activities with regard to Israel’s security.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday said European countries shared concerns over Iran’s ballistic missile programme and called for solutions to its “aggressive tendencies” in the Middle East.

Syrian NGO: Iran, Hezbollah troops preparing to withdraw from southern Syria

Just a day after Russian FM Sergei Lavrov said that Iranian and allied forces should withdraw from the Southern Syria “soon,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported [Thursday] that Iran & Hezbollah are preparing to withdraw their troops from Syrian areas close to the Israeli border.

Iranians Say Modern New Mosque Looks Like a ‘Jewish Yarmulke’

Conservative Muslims, unable to accept the modern mosque design in Tehran, blame the Jews for the building lacking the traditional domes and minarets, accusing authorities of “treason” for approving the design.

The Jewish people were surprised to find themselves entangled in a heated debate over mosque design in Iran.

A massive new mosque being constructed in Tehran sports a sleek, minimalist design that architects say evokes the “austerity of early Islam.”

But more conservative Muslim voices have slammed the departure from the more traditional domes and minarets characteristic of mosques across the Middle East.

Iran’s Olympic wrestling coach resigns over country’s anti-Israel policy

Head coach of Iran’s Wrestling Federation, Rasoul Khadem [pictured above], resigns over Tehran’s policy of forcing his athletes to forfeit matches in order to avoid contact with Israeli opponents, saying how wrestler Alireza Karimi, who was banned for half year, and previous coach banned for two years was, “not right.”

The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Wrestling Federation, Rasoul Khadem, announced his resignation Wednesday, only two months after being approved for the position, in protest of Iran’s rigid stance on competing against Israeli athletes.

Just recently, Iranian wrestler Alireza Karimi received a six month suspension for losing on purpose to a Russian opponent during the U-23 World Championship held in Poland in November, so that he would not advance to the next round and face Israeli wrestler Yuri Kalashnikov, who won a bronze medal. A high-level Hamas delegation led by Hamas Deputy Politburo chief Salih al-Arouri arrived in Tehran on Friday to meet with Iranian officials, Hamas’s official website reported.

IDF News UPDATES: Pilot armored corps program for female combat soldiers fails

After female trainees dropped out of pilot program to serve in armored corps units, IDF command decides to cancel project.

The pilot program for female soldiers in the IDF armored corps failed after two of the twelve female recruits dropped out during basic training.

As part of the pilot program, the IDF sought to have three female soldiers serve in a tank and work together with one male soldier.

Israel offers Iranian journalist asylum in Israel

Responding to a request by the Jerusalem Journalists Association, Israel’s Interior Minister commented, “This is a journalist whose life is in real danger, only because of writing columns on an Israeli news website.”

Interior Minister Aryeh Deri responded to a request by the Jerusalem Journalists Association and the National Journalists Association to approve entry into Israel of Iranian journalist Nada Amin, who writes for the Times of Israel.

REPORT: Iranian cyber spying group targets US, Israel, Saudi Arabia & Germany

ClearSky of Israel and the Tokyo-based Trend Micro say malicious hackers are using social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to dupe targeted victims in Saudi Arabia, Germany, the U.S. and Israel.

A cyber spying group with links to Iran is targeting countries including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Germany and the United States, security researchers said on Tuesday.

PM Netanyahu tells Iran after missile strike on Syria, “Don’t threaten Israel”

 

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said Israel was not worried by the Iranian strike, being their first strike outside its own territory in nearly 30 years. “Israel is prepared for every development, we have no concerns or worries.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Iran not to threaten Israel on Monday, hours after the Iranian army fired ballistic missiles at a Syrian base of the Islamic State.

“I have one message for Iran: Don’t threaten Israel,” Netanyahu said, reported AFP.

British Police protect pro-Hezbollah, Iranian supporters at Al-Quds Day March in London

 

Among the chants by the pro-terrorist groups protected by the Metropolitan Police at London’s anti-Israel demonstration included: “Zionists/ISIS are the same. Only difference is the name,”  “Zionist are to blame for the apartment fire” and “We are all Hezbollah.”

Marchers in the annual Al-Quds Day parade in London blamed a fire in a low-income apartment complex that left at least 58 dead on “Zionists.”

Hundreds marched Sunday afternoon behind the Palestinian flag and behind a flag of Hezbollah, which has been named in Britain as an illegal terror organization. Many marchers also carried paper versions of the Hezbollah flag. Continue Reading »
