Israel Sends Aid to Cyclone-Ravaged Tiny Island Nation

Light Unto the Nations: IsraAID has dispatched an emergency team providing food, medical assistance & and other basic needs to help the citizens of Vanuatu.

Israeli international aid organization IsraAID has dispatched an emergency team to the Oceanic island nation of Vanuatu after it was ravaged by a tropical cyclone.

More than 90 percent of the population of 250,000 has reportedly been left homeless and destitute by Tropical Cyclone Pam.

After surgery in Israel, Syrian youth fitted with a prosthetic leg

After the 13 yr-old Syrian boy received extensive medical treatment and now a prosthetic leg, the boy & his mother are preparing to return home to Syria.

A 13-year-old Syrian boy who was seriously injured by a mortar in Quneitra three months ago as a result of the ongoing civil war in his home country was brought to Israel for surgery and fitted with a prosthetic leg that will allow him to walk again.

The boy, who dreams of playing soccer and basketball and finishing high school, lost his left leg below the knee and was gravely injured by shrapnel in his right thigh.

Israel Foreign Ministry Supplying Desalination Vehicle to Marshall Islands

Israel to supply the first water purification vehicle to the Pacific island nation, which suffers from serious water shortages.

The Pacific island nation known as the Marshall Islands will soon have its first water purification vehicle – thanks to Israel.

The Israel Foreign Ministry is supplying desalination vehicle to the tiny nation with a population of about 70,000 people. Located near the equator in the northern Pacific Ocean, the Marshall Islands suffers from a serious water shortage, which Israel hopes to help the country overcome.

Kurdish, Yazidi and Christian refugees in northern Iraq, escaping Islamic State rule, have been receiving help from Israeli aid organization IsraAid, which will soon begin providing a schooling framework for the children.

Founding director of IsraAid, Shachar Zahavi, told Israel Hayom that aid to this point has focused on providing basic materials, but the goal now was to help the vulnerable populations, first and foremost the children.

Sayyed Muhammad Ali Husseini, secretary general of the Arabic Islamic Council, took to Facebook on Sunday to warn of the dangers of religious extremism.

IDF paratroopers give their lunch to hungry Palestinian kids

“After talking to our friends, it was clear to us we couldn’t let those kids keep looking through dumpsters for food, while we had extra food,” the IDF corporal said.

IDF paratroopers’ hearts went out to two Palestinian children who approached their post on Sunday asking for food.

One of the soldiers, Corporal Oren, told his friends about the two children, and they didn’t hesitate before giving most of their lunch to the children, even giving them some snacks as well.

Miller’s research at Ben-Gurion University (BGU) of the Negev in Beersheva revealed, for the first time, the atomic structure of a brain protein fragment called non-amyloid beta component (NAC), known to trigger PD when it clumps together.

IsraAID in Iraq Delivering Emergency Relief to Kurds

Israeli humanitarian workers have joined the effort to provide desperately-needed supplies to displaced victims of the brutal Islamic State terrorist group in northern Iraq and Syria.

IsraAID supplied beds, blankets, and food to over 1,000 families in the Kurdish city of Duhok, in northern Iraq. The Israeli aid agency worked with Canadian ONEXONE to deliver a convoy to a 14,000-strong refugee camp carrying 2,000 blankets and mattresses, as well as enough powdered milk for all the 1,015 babies under one year of age. IDF soldier died after surgery but donated organs saved 6 others

 

19 yr-old Lee Hassin ז”ל underwent surgery at Sheba Medical Center to remove a large but benign brain tumor. Since he did not survive the operation, his parents donated his organs and now 6 other Israelis, including an 18 yr-old girl & a 5 yer-old boy, have a chance at life.

Israel to set up Field Hospital in Africa to combat Ebola

After request by US & UN to send field hospitals to Africa, Israel’s Foreign Ministry announces it will send Israeli medical crews and 3 mobile emergency clinics to area.

After Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon rejected a special request by the US and UN to send IDF field hospitals to Ebola hit Liberia and Sierra Leone, the Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday its intention to send three mobile emergency clinics to areas in West Africa where there is a risk of infection with the virus.

Israel dispatched medical teams to Sierra Leone & Cameroon to deal with Ebola

 

Jerusalem dispatches highly trained medical teams to African counties, and an Israeli drug company offers to mass produce experimental medication.

Israel over the past month has been playing an increasingly central role in the global battle against the Ebola epidemic in West Africa that the UN Security Council recently deemed a “threat to international peace and security.”

Over 6,000 cases of Ebola have been reported and over 3,000 people have died of the disease in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia since the start of the year. The actual numbers are estimated to be much higher, though most cases are concealed for fear of forced quarantine.

Another 3 Syrian children in serious condition are treated in Israeli hospital

Three children hurt from exploding shell while playing were  sent to Ziv Medical Center in Safed for treatment.

Since the beginning of the Syrian war, Ziv hospital has treated 376 Syrian patients.

Three Syrian children wounded in the battles raging in their war-torn country were brought to the Ziv Medical Center in Safed on Saturday night to receive medical treatment. They were treated at the trauma unit and were expected to undergo surgery when their condition stabilizes.
