4 Gaza rockets fired at Israel, 2 fall inside Gaza & explode, 2 fall in open area in Israel

 

No injuries reported on the Israeli side after an unusually high number of Kasam rockets were fired in a single volley from Gaza on Friday evening, with only 2 falling in Israel and at least 2 more falling short and exploding inside the Gaza Strip.

Two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip exploded in Israel on Friday night, in the south’s Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council. No one was injured and there were no reports of damage.

Archaeological dig in central Israel unearths 2700 yr-old farm with 1,500 yr-old Byzantine church

A community excavation overseen by the Antiquities Authority in the center of the country has unearthed a rare and well-preserved 2,700-year-old farmhouse and 1,500-year-old church featuring colorful mosaics and numerous Greek inscriptions, the authority announced on Wednesday.

The findings were discovered during an excavation in Rosh Ha’ayin initiated by the Construction Ministry in coordination with the city’s municipality prior to building new neighborhoods in the area.

“So far, scores of teenagers from preparatory programs and youth villages have participated in the excavation, as part of the Israel Antiquities Authority policy of increasing public awareness of our cultural heritage,” the authority said in a statement. Continue Reading »

Two people have been killed and nine others injured in a shooting along Tel Aviv’s Dizengoff Street.

Magen David Adom paramedics at the scene provided first aid treatment to four seriously injured victims – including two in critical condition – and three in moderate condition, as well as the fatally injured victim, who they were forced to pronounce dead at the scene.

IDF reservists request permission to sue ‘Breaking the Silence’ for libel & slander

 

A group of IDF soldiers & officer, Reservists at the Front, has been working conscientious to collect facts to confirm for a court, that Breaking the Silence “twists, manipulates & sometimes lies” which libels them.
• Since the litigants are still active IDF reservists, the group needs approval from the attorney general to proceed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is Israelis’ person of the year, according to a Panels Research poll taken for The Jerusalem Post and its Hebrew sister publication Ma’ariv Sof Hashavua.

Hamas says sleeper-cells in West Bank to be activated for suicide attacks against Israelis

 

For the first time, Hamas admits publicly that the Islamic terror organization is planning suicide attacks within the Green Line, that will be carried out by sleeper cells from Abbas’ PA controlled areas.

Israel’s offshore gas-fields to be protected by ‘Barak-8 Dome’

Hamas: Christian Celebration of New Year’s Eve is Totally Forbidden in Gaza Strip

 

In another blow to the dwindling Christian population in Gaza, a Hamas spokesman says New Year’s Eve celebrations (a.k.a. Saint Sylvester’s Day to the Catholic Church in many countries) will not be allowed because it is “contrary to our traditions and an imitation of the West.”

The Jordanian shop owner was charged with ‘insulting & injuring relations with a friendly country’ after painting an Israeli flag outside his store for customers to wipe their shoes on.

This was not a happy Christmas for our Palestinian brothers in the West Bank who happen to be Christian. The Palestinian Christians have now become a tiny minority in Bethlehem. This year, they were just lucky that Christmas passed without a major terrorist attack or serious outbreaks of violence.
