IDF reports: Following warning shots into the air, IDF Commander shot Palestinian dead after his vehicle was being ambushed in the West Bank.

In response to being pelted with stones, a brigade commander in the IDF’s Judea and Samaria Division shot and killed a Palestinian on Friday morning.

Palestinian rioters began throwing stones at  Col. Israel Shomer’s vehicle and in response, after firing warning shots he opened fire and killed one of them. The victim was identified as a seventeen-year-old named Muhammad al-Casba. Continue Reading »

Israel’s Government Approves Legislation Toughening Punishment for Rock Throwers

This bill offers sentence of 10 years even if thrower’s ‘intent’ was not proven, and sentences for throwing rocks at security personnel, police or police vehicles will be even heavier.

The Ministerial Committee for Legislation approved on Sunday the first bill submitted by Minister Ayelet Shaked, stiffening the punishments and penalties meted out to individuals convicted of rock throwing.

The Committee decided to bring the “continuity principle” to bear on the bill, which was originally submitted by former Justice Minister Tzipi Livni in the previous government, but passed only in the first reading. The continuity principle means that the bill will not have to be brought to a first reading again, and will advance immediately to the second and third readings. Continue Reading »

Israel’s New Justice Minister Shaked Advances Bill to Stiffen Punishment For Rock Throwing

The proposed revised legislation provides for up to 20 years incarceration for any individual who throws a rock/projectile at any vehicle with the intent to cause harm.

Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked on Thursday announced that she will be aggressively pushing forward with legislation to increase the penalties for persons throwing rocks with fast-track consecutive meetings with the Ministerial Committee on Legislation starting on Sunday.

Stone Throwing Ultra-Orthodox Jews Attack IDF Officer in Jerusalem

An IDF officer visiting 2 soldiers under his command, was assaulted by dozens of ultra-Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem neighborhood of Mea She’arim, causing extensive damage to his car.

An IDF officer was attacked by dozens of ultra-Orthodox Jews in the neighborhood of Meah She’arim in Jerusalem on Friday. The assailants – both adults and children – threw stones and eggs at him, caused damage to his car and yelled: “Hardak (frivolous haredi), we will kill you”.

The officer, a resident of Kiryat Arba who serves in the Givati infantry brigade, had arrived at the neighborhood in Jerusalem to pay a visit to two of his soldiers – one of them a lone soldier whose grandfather had recently passed away.

Palestinian Throwing Rocks on Passing Israeli Cars Shot Dead by IDF

IDF Spokesperson’s Unit says procedure requires investigation after soldiers shoot Palestinian on Monday, throwing stones at traveling cars in West Bank.

A Palestinian was killed on Monday by IDF fire near the settlement of Kfar Tapuach in the West Bank. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said that IDF forces observed Palestinians hurling rocks at the road and proceeded to apprehend the suspects, during which one of the stone throwers was shot.

He received an emergency treatment by the IDF, but later succumbed to his wounds. IDF officials said that an official Military Police investigation has been launched.

Surveillance balloons tracking rioters in East Jerusalem for subsequent arrests

3 surveillance balloons currently operating now with 2 more to come for police to use to bust youngsters throwing ‘Molotov cocktails’ & stones at light rail & passing cars.

 

The Jerusalem municipality said this week that it was deploying three surveillance balloons over East Jerusalem to aid police in stopping Palestinian rioting. Two more balloons will soon be added as part of a new municipal unit for aerial surveillance.

Arabs Again Attack Jewish Kindergarten in Jerusalem

Arabs continue with rock-throwing incidents in Israel’s capital as clashes continued overnight & early Thursday morning in Silwan & Shuafat neighborhoods, causing damage to city’s light rail – no one was hurt.

Following the deadly attack at the Jerusalem Light Rail, stones were hurled on Thursday morning at a kindergarten in the Ma’ale ha-Zeitim neighborhood in East Jerusalem, near the Arab neighborhood of Ras al-Amud.

Border police and police forces started searching for the suspects who fled the scene. No damage was caused and no one was hurt.

An Egged bus shuttling children to school was pelted with stones and a bottle of paint on Sunday morning while driving by the Ras al-Amud square in East Jerusalem.

Damage was caused to the bus’ windshield and Border Police forces were searching the area for the perpetrators.

Yonatan, one of the children on the bus, told his Mom the experience was “really scary.”

Yeshiva Students in the Galilee attacked by Arab Rock-Throwers

Jews being pelted with stones by Arabs are apparently no longer restricted to just Judea & Samaria. Now Arabs in the Galilee are throwing stones at Jews.

Rock attacks by Arabs against Jews are no longer restricted to Judea and Samaria. Last Thursday, dozens of yeshiva students in the lower Galilee were attacked by stone-throwing Arabs as they attempted to visit the tomb of a Jewish sage near the village of Ilabun.

The students had gone to visit the tomb of Rabbi Matya Ben Harash, a Talmudic sage. According to Shaul Pu’a, a student at the yeshiva, some 50 students proceeded from a bus that had brought them to the site to the tomb itself. Continue Reading »

Mother of 4: ‘They Threw Stones at My Car to Kill Me’

33 year old mother of 4 said after attacked while driving in Samaria, ‘There’s glass in my eyes and mouth.’

Wednesday morning Arabs threw rocks at the car of a resident of Karnei Shomron as she drove on Highway 55 in Samaria.

The driver, a 33 year-old mother of 4, briefly lost control of her car as the rocks shattered her windshield, showering her with broken glass.

“There’s glass in my eyes and mouth,” said the woman, noting “they threw the stone to kill me.”

Police break into Temple Mount in pursuit of stone-throwing Arabs

 

Israel police officers stationed at the Mughrabi Gate break into Temple Mount to disperse rioters after being pelted by stone-throwers.

Police forces who were pelted with stones in Jerusalem’s Mughrabi Gate stormed the Temple Mount compound on Friday. Police said several Arab youths were hurt while running away from officers, who used shock grenades.

The worshippers were removed from the site. No arrests were reported.

A Jewish resident of Mahane Yatir, in southern Mount Hevron, was ambushed by a rock-wielding Arab youth Friday as he drove toward the community of Carmel, not far from the Zif Junction.
