Arab journalists in Israel for unprecedented visit

 

Israeli’s Foreign Ministry hosted a delegation of 4 visiting Arab journalists who live in Europe as part of a new initiative, hoping their personal experience will erase the automatic bias, based on propaganda, when reporting to the Arabic-speaking world.

IDF joins US European Command in joint missile defense exercise

 

Juniper Cobra, a joint exercise which takes place every other year, enhances the interoperability between the IDF & U.S. European Command designed to improve integrated defensive capabilities.

The IDF and the United States European Command (US EUCOM) began their eighth ballistic missile defense exercise on Sunday.

The joint exercise, known as Juniper Cobra, has taken place every two years since 2001. Its primary purpose is to enhance interoperability between the two militaries and improve joint defensive capabilities. #BDSfail: Facebook Protest Forces Anti-Israel Billboard in Chicago Taken Down

 

Due to the collective response from Israel supporters, the billboard company relented and agreed on Friday to remove the discriminatory ad.

A massive online campaign demanding that a Chicago advertisement agency remove an offensive pro-BDS billboard calling on motorists boycott the Jewish state has borne fruits, as the agency eventually relented and agreed to take down the offensive sign.

Posted on the major highway I-294 by the Lamar Advertising agency, the huge billboard directed motorists to visit stopfundingapartheid.org, a rabid anti-Israeli organization. It read in massive letters: “Boycott Israel Until Palestinians Have Equal Rights.”

Globes report: Israel ranks 7th worldwide on defense spending

 

Globes reported Sunday that in 2014 Israel spent 5.2% of its GDP (gross domestic product) on defense.

Israel is ranked 7th in world for defense spending and 17th when it comes to total military spending, Globes reported Sunday.

The report on the 25 countries with the most defense spending, Global Aerospace and Defense Outlook 2016, was conducted by the Deloitte consulting firm.

It showed that in 2014, Israel spent 5.2 percent of its gross domestic product (GDP) on defense, said Globes.

A spate of attempted stabbing attacks were thwarted by alert IDF soldiers Sunday morning.

The first attack occurred early Sunday morning, when a knife-wielding female teenage terrorist was arrested after an attempted terror attack at the Tapuach Junction checkpoint.

Armed with a knife, the 17 year old terrorist, a resident of the Arab village of Qusra in Samaria, had positioned herself near a bus stop at the junction, but was discovered and arrested before carrying out any attacks. Continue Reading »

Switzerland to probe whether a pact between a former Swiss gov’t minister & the PLO interfered with an investigation into a terrorist attack that killed 47 people on a Swissair plane in 1970.

Switzerland is looking into whether a former government minister struck a secret deal offering diplomatic assistance to the Palestine Liberation Organization in 1970 in exchange for the Arab group stopping attacks on Swiss targets.

Hamas reports to have found Israeli surveillance robot in a Gaza terror-tunnel

 

Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh announced that his Islamic group found an underground IDF vehicle equipped with sensors & cameras that monitored their tunnels.

Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’s leader in Gaza, said that 10 days ago the group’s armed wing “discovered an underground vehicle on which were installed cameras and sensors to monitor tunnels and fighters.”

The UN envoy for the Middle East peace process on Thursday blasted Israeli “settlements” as being an obstacle to peace.

The envoy, Nickolay Mladenov, made the comments in an address to the Security Council today in which he urged both Israel and the PA to end the long-standing conflict.
