Palestinians commit double-attack, Abbas rebukes Israel for ‘executing’ armed terrorists

 

PA chairman’s political faction doesn’t condemn Palestinian-ISIS terror-attack in Jerusalem, but criticizes Israel for the 3 terrorists dying after being neutralized by security forces near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem, while they were carrying out their combined shooting & stabbing attack.

Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah on Friday night blasted Israel for killing the three terrorists who carried out the combined shooting and stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem, in which 23-year-old Border Police officer Hadas Malka was murdered.

In ongoing Palestinian terrorist attack, a female Magav police officer was evacuated to hospital in serious condition, with 4 other injured in light to moderate conditions, with police searching Jerusalem to see if forth terrorist was involved.

Israel notified the Palestinian Authority that five Palestinian cities – Ramallah, Hebron, Tulkarem, Jenin and Kalkilya – would be allowed to expand from Area A into Area C, MK Ahmed Tibi (Joint List) told Army Radio on Thursday night.

Tibi spoke prior to the anticipated return of US envoy Jason Greenblatt to the region, who was last here two weeks ago to speak with Israelis and Palestinians about US President Donald Trump’s peace efforts.

Human Rights Watch has accused Abbas’ gov’t of arresting and abusing local journalists and activists critical of PA policies, seen as a violation of media freedom and freedom of speech.

The shutdowns were ordered by the Palestinian Attorney General’s office, with Palestinian media outlets quoting one anonymous official as saying that the sites blocked were in “violation of the rules of publications” which bars the dissemination of alleged fake news and defamation. Tel Aviv University reveal unseen inscription from First Temple era with new technology

 

Researchers at Tel Aviv University use multispectral imaging technology were able to read additional letters and words in the existing inscription dating back almost 3,000 years, on one side of the clay, and to their surprise, three “new” lines appeared.

Researchers at Tel Aviv University have uncovered a Hebrew inscription on a shard of pottery dating back to the First Temple era (the 11th to 5th centuries BCE) using new multispectral imaging technology, the “Plos One” multidisciplinary scientific journal reported Wednesday.

The shard, discovered decades ago, was believed to have been inscription-free on one side, but the multispectral imaging technology revealed it was used as part of a delivery of supplies to a military unit sent to Tel Arad, west of the Dead Sea. Continue Reading »

500 IDF Special Forces commandos participate in extensive military drill in Cyprus

 

WATCH: The first of its kind and one of the largest exercises by Israeli commandos held on foreign territory, it involved close to 500 combat soldiers from the Egoz special forces unit as well as 3 Super Hercules transport planes and 10 Black Hawk helicopters.

UN agency accuses Israel of extrajudicial executions omitting they were armed terrorists

 

A United Nations group has charged Israel in their report of using “force that has at times been deemed excessive” against the Palestinians, “which may have amounted to extrajudicial executions.”

The UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) accused Israel in a report Wednesday of using “force that has at times been deemed excessive” against the Palestinians, “which may have amounted to extrajudicial executions.”According to ECOSOC, from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017, Israeli security forces killed 63 Palestinians, including 19 children, and wounded 2,276 others, including 562 children.

Jerusalem to expel UN official from Israel

 

Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs demands UN staffer Robert Piper be replaced after his improper public critique of Israeli military policies in Judea and Samaria.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs is demanding that Robert Piper, a United Nations staffer be replaced after learning of comments he made that were critical of Israel, Walla news site reported.

Israel is also threatening to revoke the residency permit of the staffer, who works as the United Nations Humanitarian Aid and Development Coordinator.

Amb. Nikki Haley threatens US exit from UNHRC if Israel charged at Int’l Court

 

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley is unhappy the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is taking steps outside the purview of its mandate in turning Israel to the International Court of Justice saying, “It’s actions like these that are forcing us to evaluate the United States’ future on the Human Rights Council.”

The United States warned that it would leave the United Nations Human Rights Council if it turns to the International Court of Justice at The Hague for a broad advisory opinion on Israeli actions in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.

The Israeli regenerative medicine company CollPlant has filed a US  to be used in the three-dimensional printing of tissues and organs.

CollPlant’s patent application refers to formulations of bio-ink based on the firm’s rhCollagen (recombinant type 1 human collage), a plant-based technology that mimics human collagen – the main structural protein in connective tissues. By filing the patent, the Ness Ziona-based company expressed hopes of establishing its position as a leader in three-dimensional biological printing and of forming partnerships in the field of organ printing. Israel’s ambassador to New Zealand returns to Wellington, ending diplomatic dispute

 

After the two leaders spoke on the phone earlier this week, New Zealand’s PM wrote in a letter to Netanyahu, “I regret the damage done to Israel-New Zealand relations as a result of New Zealand proposing Resolution 2334 at the Security Council.”

Sweden to resume directs flights to Eilat after 15 year break

 

Some 15 years after Swedish airline SAS ended their direct flights from Stockholm to the Red Sea resort town because of the 2nd Intifada, the route is reopening as Israel’s Tourism Ministry and Eilat hotels are offering incentives to airlines to fly in tourists.

Decades ago, Swedes used to enjoy escaping from their long, cold winter with a direct flight to the southern Israeli resort town of Eilat, where they often would spend some time soaking up the sun as the first stop en route to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.
