The Israel Defense Forces is adding a number of new pieces of logistics equipment to its stocks with aim of improving operations in battle, particularly when it comes to supplying soldiers with water and other needs. Japan joins U.S. to withhold annual dues to UNESCO

 

Japan, the 2nd-largest donor state after the US, says their actions to withhold payment is to make sure the UN body lives up to its founding purpose of promoting peace among member nations through education.

TOKYO — Japan has withheld its annual UNESCO dues, saying it wants to make sure the UN body properly functions to foster trust among member nations.

Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, asked by a reporter, confirmed that Japan withheld dues of nearly 4 billion yen ($40 million) for this year. He refused to say if that was to protest UNESCO’s listing last year of Chinese Rape of Nanking documents as a memory of the world.Israel  Continue Reading »

LONDON: The influential, cross-party Home Affairs Committee of the UK Parliament has published a report which details failings in the way antisemitism is investigated and dealt with within the UK. The report says that all political parties and media giants must address “pernicious” antisemitic hate.

Paris regional council adopts amendment that outlaws funding BDS promoters

 

“In accordance with the law, I will not tolerate any form of boycotts against Israel in the Ile-de-France region,” said the council’s president, Valérie Pécresse of the UMP party of former President Nicolas Sarkozy.

A regional council in France that includes Paris passed a precedent-setting amendment that excludes funding from promoters of boycotts against Israel.

The council of the Ile-de-France region, where right-wing parties have a majority, adopted the amendment Thursday, the Le Monde Juif website reported the following day.

In France, several dozen promoters of a boycott against Israel have been convicted of inciting hate, or discrimination.

Israel Security Services arrests 3 Arab Israelis for trying to join ISIS

 

Following IDF forces’ discovery of a tunnel between the West Bank and Israel proper, intended for smuggling weapons to carry out attacks, the 3 Israeli-Arabs were arrested.
– 2 of the arrested Arab males had previously attempted to enter Syria to join ISIS.

UNESCO Passes Resolution: Temple Mount and Western Wall exclusively Muslim

 

Only 6, the US, UK, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany & Estonia, of the 58 members of UNESCO, voted against the anti-Jewish, anti-Christian resolution.

In a 24-6 vote, UNESCO on Thursday gave its preliminary approval to a resolution that ignores Jewish ties to its most holy religious sites: the Temple Mount and the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Another 26 nations abstained and two were absent all together.

Nearly everything in Israel comes to standstill for this day, considered the holiest of the year. No one drives, all stores and restaurants close save for a select few small businesses owned by non-Jewish families.
