Israel Air Force jets destroy Syrian anti-aircraft battery in retaliatory strike

After being fired on Monday morning by an anti-aircraft missile stationed some 50 kilometers east of Damascus, IAF jets on a routine aerial reconnaissance flight in Lebanese airspace destroyed entire Syrian SA-5 battery in retaliation.

The Israeli Air Force attacked and destroyed a Syrian SA-5 anti-aircraft battery east of Damascus Monday morning after it fired a surface-to-air missile at Israeli jets.

The SA-5 missile battery, which was stationed some 50 kilometers east of the Syrian capital, fired at Israeli jets that were on a routine aerial reconnaissance flight in Lebanese airspace, IDF Spokesman Brig.Gen. Ronen Manelis stated.

“We see the Syrian regime as responsible and see these missiles as a clear Syrian provocation, and it will not be accepted,” Manelis stated, adding that while Israel has no intention to enter into the civil war in Syria, Israel will react to all provocations. Continue Reading »

An Israeli gov’t foreclosure order for the sum of 500,000 shekels was issued to the Abbas gov’t after having not paid the damages derived from a verdict the Jerusalem District Court handed down 4 months ago, when the PA was deemed responsible for the illegal detention, torture and even murder of ‘collaborators’ with Israel.

Israel’s Execution Office presented the Ministry of Finance with a foreclosure order on NIS 500,000 in Palestinian Authority (PA) funds, to be received as court-mandated reparations for collaborators with Israel who were caught and tortured by the PA’s security forces.

Two rockets were fired at southern Israel from Egypt’s Sinai desert on Sunday evening, the Israeli army said.

The army and a spokesperson for the Eshkol Regional Council said that no injuries or damage was reported and that searches for projectiles are ongoing.

rockets are occasionally fired from Gaza toward Israel, launches from militants operating in Egypt have been more rare in recent years.

Austrian Students’ Union rejects BDS campaign as ‘Antisemitic Boycott of Israel’

The anti-BDS resolution, passed by the Austrian National Union of Students, was nearly unanimous with no opposing votes and only a single abstention to the pledge ‘never to remain silent when antisemitism appears.’

The Austrian National Union of Students passed on Friday a motion against BDS, saying that the boycott movement targeting Israel is antisemitic, and that its demands recall the Nazis’ economic war against Jewish businesses.

It is believed to be the first time an Austrian national student union has passed such a resolution.

The Austrian Jewish students group announced on its Facebook page: “We are very happy to announce that the Austrian Students Union is the first national student union to officially pass a resolution denouncing BDS and also passing a version of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance – IHRA definition of antisemitism. UNESCO’s executive board voted 30 to 28 in favor of Azoulay, a former French culture minister, who beat out Qatar’s Hamad Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Kawari.The Qatari potential nomination was protested by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, who said that Al-Kawari had repeatedly endorsed anti-Semitic works and denied the Jewish connection to Jerusalem. President Trump withdraws the United States from UNESCO

The White House, refusing to finance a “continuing anti-Israel bias” at the UN’s educational & cultural body, has formally withdrawn, having repeatedly warned UNESCO to end their revisionist political decisions that were a blatant “affront to history.”

The Chinese e-commerce giant ALIBABA has chosen Tel Aviv to be home of one of seven R&D labs to be built around the world in their $15 billion global research program called DAMO.

Speaking at Alibaba’s Computing Conference in China, CTO Jeff Zhang unveiled a $15 billion global research program, which includes opening seven R&D labs worldwide over the next three years in Tel Aviv, Beijing, Hangzhou, San Mateo, Bellevue, Moscow, and Singapore.
