PLO Washington Office Closed By Trump White House

U.S. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert, announced that PLO mission office in Washington was officially closed due to Palestinian entrenchment over the past 10 months in refusing to engage in peace talks.

The Trump administration ordered the closure of the Palestinian diplomatic mission in Washington on Monday, citing the refusal of Palestinian leaders to enter into peace talks with Israel, prompting the Palestinians to accuse the administration of dismantling decades of US engagement with them.

The State Department said the US step—the latest in a series targeting the Palestinians—came after a review of the office of the Palestine Liberation Organization centered on the fact that no “direct and meaningful negotiations with Israel” are underway despite previous warnings. UK Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn took to social media Saturday evening to call the US’s decision to end its funding of UNRWA “shameful” and called it “a vital UN refugee agency.”

Major British and French airlines announced Thursday that they plan to halt flights to Iran from September, citing business reasons. The decisions come in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump’s reimposition of sanctions on Iran.

Hitting the list for the first time, Israel’s Hollywood superstar hits Forbes #10 spot with earnings of $10m. in the past year.

Israeli actress Gal Gadot has reached a new milestone: a spot on Forbes list of the highest-paid actresses in the world.

According to the magazine, which published its list last week, Gadot clocks in at No. 10, earning an estimated $10 million in the past year. Gadot was the only actress on the 2018 list who hasn’t appeared there in the past.

Forbes said that her paycheck for the Wonder Woman sequel plus endorsement deals from Revlon and Reebok landed her in their annual ranking. Continue Reading »

Delta airlines SkyTeam partner KLM terminates flights to Iran over US ‎sanctions

The Dutch airline, which is part of the Delta-Air France-KLM ‘SkyTeam’ group,  also suspended its Amsterdam-Tehran route back in 2013 based solely “as a result of the negative ‎results and financial outlook,” but renewed its service in 2016, with Obama’s Iranian sanctions relief policy.
