Netanyahu, AIPAC mum over U.S. Congress’ Taylor Force Act

 

Israeli leaders, along with AIPAC are maintaining their neutrality by not commenting on Congressional bill that would defund the Palestinian Authority over its monthly payments scheme to families of murderers of Israelis.

WASHINGTON — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Washington’s largest Israel advocacy organization are withholding support for a Senate bill that would defund the Palestinian Authority over its “martyr” compensation scheme, which provides the families of convicted murderers and terrorists in Israel with monthly stipends.

The Taylor Force Act, named after a former US Army officer murdered by a Palestinian assailant in Israel last year, would require the State Department cut funds to the PA should it fail to end the program. Continue Reading »

State of Ohio Makes Historic $61 Million Israel Bond Investment

 

In the largest single-day acquisition by any purchaser since the first State of Israel bonds were issued in 1951, last month the U.S. State of Ohio made a historic Israel bond investment of $61 million.

On April 3, the state of Ohio made a historic Israel bond investment of $61 million, the largest one-day purchase by a single entity since the first bonds were issued in 1951. The investment raised the state’s total Israel bond holdings to $165 million.

Wisconsin students pass BDS resolution blaming Israel for violence against African-Americans

 

During the debate over a divestment resolution, University of Wisconsin anti-Israel activists called the Jewish community “oppressors”, saying Jewish students oppose divestment against Israel because it threatens their “white privilege.”

The student government of the University of Wisconsin-Madison unanimously passed on Wednesday a divestment resolution targeting companies operating in many countries that included an amendment specifically about Israel.

An amendment added to the one-page resolution, which Jewish students said brought the resolution more in line with the proposal that failed a month ago, blames Israel for police violence against African-Americans, citing an exchange program in which senior American police officers travel to Israel to learn about counterterrorism, the pro-Israel organization StandWithUS said in a statement. White House: President Trump seeks ‘conflict-ending agreement’ with Abbas

 

Sean Spicer, the White House spokesman confirmed the May 3rd meeting between president Trump and the PA autocrat Mahmoud Abbas in Washington, with the aim of  “a conflict-ending settlement” between Israel and the Arabs.

President Donald Trump is seeking “a conflict-ending settlement” for Israelis and Palestinians, his spokesman said ahead of Trump’s meeting with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

The statement Wednesday by Sean Spicer, who was confirming the May 3 visit, is an indication that Trump is determined to extract a deal from the sides.

“They will use the visit to reaffirm the commitment of both the United States and the Palestinian leadership to pursuing and ultimately concluding a conflict-ending settlement between the Palestinians and Israel,” Spicer said in his opening remarks at the daily news briefing. Continue Reading »

Google uncovers ‘Israeli’ spy app made to track & hack smartphones

 

Google discovers what it fears to be the most dangerous android spyware to date, suspected of being created by an Israeli company, that can copy internal memory, messages, call logs, internet history as well as spy on people by remotely activating the smartphones’ camera and microphone.

Security researchers at Google and Lookout have discovered an extremely sophisticated Android app capable of spying on users by hacking their smartphones’ camera and microphone, as well as track calls, messages, internet history and more.

Called Chrysaor, the spyware seems to be linked to Pegasus, a notorious program that was found to be targeting iPhone users in 2016 and is suspected of having been created by Israeli firm NSO Group Technologies. Continue Reading »

US District Court allows professors to sue American Studies Association for Israel boycott

 

#BDSfail: United States District Court for the District of Columbia has allowed four college professors to sue the ASA over its academic boycott policies of Israel.

A U.S. federal court has ruled that four college professors can sue the American Studies Association (ASA) over its academic boycott of Israel, JTA reported on Tuesday.

The ruling was handed down on Friday by the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, according to the report.

The ASA asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit, but the court rejected ASA’s argument that going forward with the lawsuit infringes on its First Amendment rights. Continue Reading »

US Supreme Court to Hear Case of Jordanian Bank Financing Palestinian Terrorism

 

US Supreme Court agreed to consider reviving the Arab Bank of Jordan case, of knowingly financing Palestinians to commit acts of terrorism, including suicide bombings and other attacks, that  resulted in the death of scores of Americans.

WASHINGTON – The US Supreme Court on Monday agreed to consider reviving litigation seeking to hold Arab Bank Plc financially liable for militant attacks in Israel and the Palestinian territories that accused the Jordan-based bank of being the “paymaster” to militant groups.

American Appeals Court refuse terror suit against Palestinian Authority

 

The U.S Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled that the American families of victims at Joseph’s Tomb attack, won’t be allowed to sue Palestinian Authority for compensation.

A federal appeals court in the United States ruled on Friday that the families of Jewish worshippers who were killed or wounded during a 2011 attack in Joseph’s Tomb will not be allowed to sue the Palestinian Authority (PA) for damages in U.S. courts.

The decision upheld a lower court ruling to dismiss the case, according to The Associated Press.

Washington talks on Israeli settlement homes construction ends without agreement

US Senate confirms Trump’s lawyer, David Friedman to be next Ambassador to Israel

 

Friedman who was confirmed along party lines is known for his inflammatory language against those with whom he had political disagreements, such as describing former President Obama an anti-Semite.

The US Senate on Thursday narrowly confirmed President Donald Trump’s nominee for ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, a bankruptcy lawyer aligned with the Israeli right.

The vote was 52 to 46, almost exclusively along party lines.

Only two Democrats, Senators Robert Menendez and Joe Manchin, joined Trump’s fellow Republicans in backing Friedman.

MEMRI Report: Putin ready to sacrifice Iran to improve ties with United States
