Bahrain’s king meets WJC Rabbi, reportedly seeking Arab League to blacklist Hezbollah as terror group

 

World Jewish Congress VP Rabbi Marc Schneier has been received in the Gulf state of Bahrain by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to discuss regional concerns in the Middle East.

The King of Bahrain has reportedly recommended that the recent designation of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization by the Gulf Cooperation Council be taken up by the Arab League as well.

Palestinian terrorist dead as 5th Hamas terror-tunnel collapses since January 26

Resumption of death curse with yet another terrorist killed and 5 more wounded in Gaza, as fifth Hamas terror-tunnel collapses, raising total Palestinian terrorist killed to 12.

A Hamas terrorist was killed on Thursday and five other terrorists were wounded when a tunnel collapsed in Khan Yunis, located in southern Gaza.

The Hamas health ministry identified the killed terrorist as 31-year-old Mohammed Mussa al-Astal.

The death restarts the series of tunnel fatalities in Gaza after a break of nearly a month. Early last month the tally reached as high as 11 Gazanswho died while digging tunnels, in collapses that came in quick succession. Continue Reading »

Columbia University bans ‘pro-Israel’ display during nationwide BDS week

Some hint of racial bias at Columbia University student government for banning the pro-Israel display, as chair of the student gov’t and keffiyeh sporting vice-chair, are both members of Students for Justice in Palestine.

It’s “Israel Apartheid Week” at college campuses around the world as BDS activists organize displays, activities, and teach-ins to delegitimize Israel. At Columbia University, Apartheid Week organizers even managed to have the opposition banned.

Researchers at Israel’s Technion achieve breakthrough in hydrogen energy

Researchers at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology have recently made a significant breakthrough in alternative energy production, reaching perfect photon-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency.

Splitting water for energy production is a two-step process, divided into reduction and oxidation. In a paper published in the scientific journal Nano Letters, researchers Lilac Amirav, Philip Kalisman, and Yifat Nakibli explained they were able to perform the reduction phase with 100% efficiency, a sharp increase from the previous record of 60% for hydrogen production with visible light. EU transfers €252.5 Million to Palestinian Authority

 

Reaffirming the EU’s commitment to a 2-state solution, Federica Mogherini says financial aid is to be used to support ‘daily lives of Palestinians’ & ‘to ensure functioning’ of the Abbas’ government.

The European Commission authorized the transfer of EUR 252.5 million on Tuesday. It was the first assistance package to the Palestinian Authority this year, and comes as a continuation of its annual commitment to providing financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority.

IDF relinquishes 1.7 sq kilometers of land in Samaria to Palestinians

Land requisitioned by the IDF almost 40 years ago but no longer being used, was returned to its “original owners” to avoid a potentially lengthy court case.

Israeli NGO Yesh Din said that the army had taken the decision to surrender control of the land after it petitioned the High Court late last year.

The decision, which spares the army a potentially lengthy court case, will see more than 1.7 square kilometers of what used to be valuable farmland restored to its “original owners”, Yesh Din said.

After fighting back 2 Palestinian terrorists who attacked him with clubs outside his front door, Roi Harel alerted the IDF who tracked down and subsequently neutralized the 2 terrorists who infiltrated a Jewish community in the West Bank.

Ahead of construction on a new housing project, ancient finds were unearthed including a large winery from the Roman or Byzantine period and a bathhouse dating back around 1,600 years ago.

Syrian Refugee Opens Website & Facebook Page to Thank Israel & the Jewish People

Thank You Am Israel” is the name of a new website dedicated to “acknowledging the numerous Jewish and Israeli individuals and organizations who have gone out of their way to provide aid, assistance and medical care to Syrian refugees since 2011.”

Newly obtained Hamas anti-aircraft unit debuts in Gaza parade

 

A Soviet-made anti-aircraft gun, most likely taken out of Libya, was seen in Gaza last week at a Hamas military parade.

The Hamas terror group is acquiring anti-aircraft weaponry, the Al-Masdar news agency reported on Monday.

A Soviet-built Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-23 anti-air heavy machine gun was reportedly spotted during a Hamas military parade in Gaza last week.

The weapon is believed to have been smuggled into the Gaza Strip via the Sinai Peninsula by ISIS cells operating in the area. If confirmed, this would validate suspicions of expanding cooperating between Hamas and ISIS cells in the Sinai. Continue Reading »

2 IDF soldiers attacked after mistakenly entering Arab village

 

IDF, Shin Bet & Special Forces swarmed into Palestinian village of Qalandiya in large number in search of 2 soldiers who got separated after firebomb attack, but luckily escaped the mob of rioters & were extracted unharmed.

Two non-combat soldiers from the IDF’s Oketz (canine) Unit came under attack after accidentally driving into the Qalandiya refugee camp on Monday night.

Palestinians hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at them, which set the army vehicle on fire. The two soldiers were able to escape the vehicle, but got separated.

The Defence Ministry and the Missile Defense Agency began handing over control of the David’s Sling air defense system to the Israel Air Force on Tuesday.

The development comes after a series of successful trials were completed in December, said the Ministry’s Home Administration, which is in charge of developing missile defenses.

Dropping like flies: Hamas searching for 5 missing terrorists in collapsed terror-tunnel

 

In 4th collapsed Gaza tunnel since January, Hamas search & rescue teams are trying desperately to recover the 5 members of its military wing who disappeared.

Yet another tunnel dug by Hamas in the Gaza Strip has collapsed. Palestinian media outlets reported Sunday that five members of Hamas’ Izzedine al-Qassam military wing had been trapped when a tunnel collapsed on them east of Zeitoun in the Gaza Strip.
