Israel sees record immigration of Jews from France in 2015

After multiple terror attacks strike Paris in 2015, French immigration rose 10%, while overall Jewish immigration was at 15yr-high.

A record number of French Jews moved to Israel this year, an immigration official said on Thursday, citing anti-Semitic violence and economic insecurity in the European country as causes.

France has the largest Jewish population in Europe, having grown by nearly half since World War Two to some 550,000. Two Palestinian Arabs have been arrested by Palestinian Authority (PA) Security Forces, after they set a Christmas tree on fire in the Arab Christian majority town of Zababdeh near Jenin in Samaria.

A PA security officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed the arson that took place on Wednesday in statements made Friday in time for Christmas, the Associated Press reports.

Report: PM Netanyahu sends apology after standoff between Abbas’ bodyguards & the IDF

Prime Minister Benjamin Nanyahu offered a personal apology to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas earlier this week after IDF troops engaged in a tense standoff with the rais’ personal security detail just outside his home in Ramallah during a nighttime arrest raid, according to an Internet report.

The story, which was first reported by journalist Barbara Opall-Rome of the Defense News web site, claims that the Palestinians were enraged by what they viewed as Israel’s “utter disregard” of their sovereignty over Area A, the sections of West Bank land which Jerusalem recognized as the domain of the Palestinian Authority by dint of the 1993 Oslo Accords. Two Arab terrorists stabbed three Israelis in their thirties Wednesday afternoon at Jerusalem’s Jaffa Gate.

Border Policewomen stationed in the area opened fire on both of them, killing one and wounding the other, who was then promptly taken into custody; the footage shows the two moving quickly to both help neutralize the attacker and help security forces and bystanders treat victims.

Arab Media: Jordan Refused Hamas Leader Khaled Mashaal’s Request to Visit Kingdom

 

Although allowed to enter Jordan in 2012, King Abdullah expelled the Hamas leadership from Jordan in 1999, and according to Emirati news site 24, the King has again declared Khaled Mashaal “unwelcome” in Jordan.

 

Jordanian authorities denied a request by Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal to visit the kingdom, the Emirati news site 24 reported on Tuesday.

Mashaal was told by the authorities that he is “unwelcome” in Jordan, according to sources in Amman.

WASHINGTON – The US State Department on Tuesday rejected calls by 32 congressional lawmakers, including Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, to close the Washington office of the Palestinian Liberation Organization.
