The Al Jazeera network reported on Thursday evening that an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire had been reached between Hamas and Israel and added that it came into effect at 10:45 p.m.

An Israeli source clarified, however, that the report is incorrect.

The dazzling golden earring, definitely worn by someone from ancient Jerusalem‘s upper class, dates back to the 2nd or 3rd century BCE, during the Hellenistic period.

A Hellenistic-era golden earring, featuring ornamentation of a horned animal, was discovered in the Givati Parking Lot in the City of David National Park encircling walls of Jerusalem’s Old City.

The discovery was made during archaeological digs carried out by the Antiquities Authority and Tel Aviv University.

Two Hamas militants were killed Tuesday after the IDF shelled a Hamas position near Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip after troops came under fire while on patrol.

The European Union has formulated a plan to establish a transportation infrastructure to connect Gaza to Judea and Samaria without informing or involving elements in Israel.

According to today’s report on Reshet Bet as part of the plan it is proposed to build huge infrastructures also including “Area C” – places retained in the Oslo Accords under full Israeli control.

On a different proposal: Israel’s Transportation Minister Israel Katz proposed a rail link plan beginning at Israeli ports to Palestinian industrial centers, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

Significant progress in the barrier project against infiltrations from the Gaza Strip has been reported on Sunday. New images and videos show a new breakwater structure, with a high fence surrounding it, and an advanced detection system.

The construction is expected to be completed within a year and a half.

Israel’s Navy intercepts Swedish-flagged, Gaza-bound vessel

IDF Spokesperson’s Unit reported the Israeli Navy intercepted a second Gaza-bound vessel, supposedly carrying ‘humanitarian aid’ for the Palestinians.

The Israeli navy intercepted a Swedish-flagged boat aiming to reach Gaza, the IDF said on Saturday.

“The ship was monitored and was intercepted in accordance with international law,” an IDF spokesperson said. “It was brought to the Ashdod base.”

The Kårstein (top) was intercepted Sunday 29 July, and the Hurriyah (Freedom) was intercepted today trying to reach Gaza – Facebook

“The incident ended with no unusual events.”
