President Donald Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Jason Greenblatt, said in a speech to the Security Council that the Palestinians would make a mistake if they did not come to the economic conference initiated by the United States in Bahrain.

Israeli Foreign Ministry trade swipes after UNRWA called out on Twitter

Israel’s Foreign Ministry refuses to delete tweet after UNRWA head fumed over comment posted by ministry spokesman: “The terrorists shooting the rockets are all probably UNRWA graduates. You must be really proud of them.”

Even as the winds of war seem to have temporarily subsided in Gaza, Israel’s Foreign Ministry and the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees continue to butt heads over the agency’s conduct during the most recent round of violence between Israel and Palestinian terrorist groups in Gaza.

UNRWA needs $1.2 Billion for another year of covering Palestinian costs

No longer receiving aid from the US, the UN agency that provides food, education & health care exclusively for Palestinian refugees is asking donors to fill in the missing $446 million it lacks.
– President Trump said in January 2018 that Palestinian leaders must return to peace talks if they want to receive US aid money.
– The European Union has replaced the US as leading donor to UNRWA.

Israel Closes Toxic UNRWA Schools in Jerusalem

UNRWA is cash-strapped and was near collapse recently as hundreds of Palestinians workers have been laid off, yet UNRWA is advertising for a new position that pays over 14 times the average income of a Palestinian worker.

A United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) job posting published last month offered a starting salary of over $100,000 for the position of director of external relations. The well-paid post comes despite the fact that the organization finds itself in serious financial trouble.

UNRWA evacuates senior Gaza officials to Israel for their safety

United Nations transfers 10 of its int’l [non-Palestinian] employees of UNRWA to Israel on Monday, to protect them from Gaza’s local staff [terrorists?] following threats and violent acts of harassment, since US fund cuts have led to subsequent layoff plans.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) had evacuated 10 of its international senior employees from Gaza to Israel on Monday, after they were threatened and harassed by UNRWA’s disgruntled local Palestinian staff following the agency’s announcement to cut more than 250 jobs.

UNRWA, the body responsible for Palestinian refugees, needs reforms if the Trump administration is to fully support it, US Ambassador to UN Nikki Haley said on Tuesday.

Haley, who spoke at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies summit in Washington, further accused the Palestinian Authority of “bashing” the US while expecting Washington to support Palestinians financially.
