PLO outright rejects Hamas leader’s proposal of West Bank-Gaza Strip federation

 

With Palestinian President Abbas not representing Hamas or the 1.8 million Gazans, “A federation between the West Bank and Gaza Strip may be better than the ongoing division,” admitted Mousa Abu Marzouk, of the Hamas Politburo, to a London-based Arabic satellite network.

A senior Hamas official said on Friday that a federation between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip could be a feasible solution to the ongoing division between Hamas and Fatah.

REPORT: 21 Hamas terrorists died in collapses of terror-tunnels in 2016

 

Hamas reported that 21 members of its Islamic Palestinian militant groups were killed by the collapse of their attack-tunnels in Gaza during 2016.

Hamas said on Sunday that 21 of its members were killed in tunnel collapses in Gaza during 2016, Kol Yisrael radio reported.

According to the terror group, seven of the 21 were killed in a tunnel in eastern Gaza City which collapsed six months ago during work to repair the damage caused to the tunnel by Israel during Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

Decision: Bodies of Hamas terrorists will no longer be returned to families

 

Israel’s decision came during Sunday’s meeting called by the government’s Security Cabinet to discuss ways to finally retrieve the missing Israeli soldiers and citizens, those dead and alive, held by Hamas since 2014.

Israel’s 2017 budget to cover new light rail train between Haifa – Nazareth

 

Government approves 12 billion NIS ($3.15b) for infrastructure facelift, added health care, improved education and boost in small and medium businesses for northern Israel.

As part of the 2017-2018 budget, the Israeli government is set to spend 12 billion NIS to give northern Israel a facelift.

Interior Minister Aryeh Deri (Shas) and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon (Kulanu) have proposed a plan outlining changes for the north, including upgrading schools, and building a light rail train between Haifa and Nazareth.

Jordanian Army’s Chief of Staff: ISIS unit in Syrian Golan have anti-aircraft missiles

 

In a BBC interview, head of the Jordanian army says ISIS unit in Syria’s Golan Heights, near the Jordanian border, may have possession of American anti-aircraft missiles.

Jordanian Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mahmoud Freihat warned in an interview with BBC on Saturday that  fighters have anti-aircraft missiles.

In the interview, which was given in Arabic, Freihat referred specifically to the Syria-Jordan-Israel border, near the Golan Heights area.

Prominent author and Harvard Professor Emeritus of Law Alan Dershowitz sharply criticized President Barack Obama in an interview with the Israel Hayom newspaper on Friday, saying he believes “Obama will join Jimmy Carter as somebody who will always stand against Israel, but who will be tossed into the dustbin of history when it comes to the Middle East.”

An embarrassed Google announced it was adjusting its algorithms after users who entered the question “Did the Holocaust happen?” in online searches were directed to a neo-Nazi website.

Knife attack at Qalandiya checkpoint thwarted, Palestinian terrorist shot, neutralized

 

After multiple calls to stop did not halt her advance, a knife yielding Palestinian woman was shot & neutralized on Friday while quickly approaching Israel Border Guard officers at the Qalandiya checkpoint. She was subsequently arrested and given medical assistance.

Security forces stopped a stabbing attack on Friday at the Qalandiya checkpost near Ramallah. The incident occurred when a Palestinian woman had approached the checkpoint, with a knife in her hand, despite being repeatedly called upon to stop.

REPORT: Foreign Minister Bishop said Australia wouldn’t have supported UNSC resolution

 

According to the Australian newspaper, FM Bishop indicated the gov’t would not have supported the Security Council’s move, saying, “In voting at the UN, the ­Coalition government has consistently not supported one-sided resolutions targeting Israel.”

 

The US may have worked for the passage of last Friday’s anti-settlement resolution in the UN, and western countries like Britain, France, Japan and Spain may have supported it, but if Australia was on the UN Security Council, it would likely not have voted for it, Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop indicated on Thursday.

Although Nikki Haley and her new boss Donald Trump have spared on a host of issues, she appears to be in line on how the Jewish State should be treated at the United Nations.
