Abbas: Security coordination with Israel is over, ‘Pay to Slay’ will continue

The Palestinian autocrat Mahmoud Abbas vows to continue monthly stipends to murderers’ families despite US threats to discontinue financial aid and said he will not allow the PA resume security coordination with Israel.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said Tuesday that he will not resume security coordination with Israel nor will he end financial support for Palestinian security prisoners jailed by Israel, despite pressure from the United States.

Abbas made the declarations in a wide-ranging interview with the London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabinewspaper.

Abbas described Israeli settlement building in both the West Bank and east Jerusalem to be illegitimate, and called for “peaceful popular resistance in the face of the practices and procedures of the occupation.” Continue Reading »

Israel Shipyards launches OPV designed for Cyprus Navy

In a deal valued at tens of millions of Euros, Israel Shipyards is building a technologically advanced naval ship that will be delivered to Cyprus by the end of 2017.

Israel Shipyards has unveiled an offshore patrol vessel (OPV) designed and built for the Cypriot Navy. The project has been valued at tens of millions of Euros. The high-end vessel is slated to be delivered to the Cypriot Navy by the end of the year and integrated into the fleet patrolling Cyprus’ exclusive maritime economic zone.

In a statement released on Sunday, Israel Shipyards said the OPV, ordered in December 2015, was launched at a ceremony held last week at Israel Shipyards’ facility at Haifa Bay. Continue Reading »

Dropping like flies: Another terror-tunnel collapses killing another Hamas terrorist

Following the two other dead terrorist that died last week, this terrorist belonging to Al-Qassam Brigades smothered to death while working on yet another tunnel meant for future Gaza terror activities.

Officials in the Gaza strip announced this morning, Tuesday, that a 24-year-old terrorist had died while working in a terror tunnel near Rafiah in southern Gaza.

According to Arab media outlet reports, the terrorist belonged to the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

The U.S. Army on Monday dedicated a new military base inside the Israeli Air Force’s Aerial Defense School base near Kibbutz Mashabei Sade in the Negev.

Israel decided to evacuate Kiryat Shmona, Sderot in next military conflict

Israel’s PM and Defense Minister have accepted to initiate the IDF’s and the National Emergency Management Authority’s recommendation to evacuate Kiryat Shmona and/or Sderot residents, as well as nearby border town residents to protect them from rocket fire and the possibility of terrorist infiltration.

Poll: 48% of E. Jerusalem parents would prefer Israeli school curriculum

Although the Jerusalem Municipality is investing massive resources in east Jerusalem education, including enrichment programs, a poll in the city’s Arab schools reflects a spike in preference for Israeli curriculum, rather than the Palestinian’s.

Forty-eight percent of parents whose children are enrolled in schools in east Jerusalem do not want them studying the curriculum provided by the Palestinian Authority, according to a recent poll conducted by the Jerusalem Municipality.

SpaceIL, the Israeli representative in the Google Lunar XPRIZE competition, is making giant strides to land the first Israeli spacecraft on the moon, after the base structure of the craft was received at IAI facilities earlier this week.

The skeleton of the spacecraft consists of two perforated “sandwich” boards, upper and lower plates and a cone ring structure.

These components, designed by an aerospace industry and manufactured in Spain by IberEspacio, complement the sub-system structure of the spacecraft to be launched to the moon during the coming year. Continue Reading »

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon’s term as vice president of the U.N. General Assembly began Wednesday as the body’s 72nd session got underway.

Next Tuesday, when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addresses the assembly, Danon will preside over the meeting.
