UN official proposes ban on Jewish products from areas Palestinians claim

Special Rapporteur on Palestinian territories tells the UN how the int’l community has a responsibility to compel Israel to completely end its ‘occupation’ of territory the Palestinians want for their own state and to ban all products made by Israelis in those areas.

The U.N. independent expert on human rights in the Palestinian territories called Wednesday for an international ban on all products made in Israeli settlements, as a step to potentially end Israel’s 52-year-old “illegal occupation.”

Michael Lynk told the General Assembly’s human rights committee that the international community should also issue “a clarion call to the United Nations” to complete and release a database “on businesses engaged in activities related to the illegal settlements.” Continue Reading »

Sacha Baron Cohen calls out Zuckerberg’s “free speech” as BS

Israel’s ’emissions free & pollution free’ solar power plant goes into service

Emissions free and pollution free, operating without generating any harmful substances at all, Israel allows activation of a new massive solar power plant located in the Negev Desert near the city of Be’er Sheva.

Israel has taken another step in moving from fossil fuels to environmentally friendly renewable energy, approving its biggest plant of unique solar panels to date. The plant, which is for commercial use, operates without generating pollution or any greenhouse gas emissions.

The Electricity Authority (TEA) and Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz have recently approved the commercial activation of the Ashalim photovoltaic power station – located in the Negev Desert, south of the city of Be’er Sheva – for a period of twenty years. Continue Reading »

Palestinian terrorist neutralized by gunfire during vehicular attack

Riots erupt in the Al-Amari refugee camp after after a Palestinian terrorist was neutralized by gunfire while attempting to carry out a ramming attack against undercover Border Police officers during a counter-terrorism raid.
– Israeli security personnel were unscathed.

A Palestinian man in his 20s suspected of attempting to perpetrate a car ramming attack against Border Police forces operation near Ramallah Wednesday night was shot and evacuated to a hospital in serious condition.

Israel Electric Corp cuts power to Palestinians after PA defaults on payments

Second step of electricity cuts to begin as the Palestinian Authority reneges on payments from $834 million owed and an addition $41.7 million for electricity theft in their jurisdiction.

Jerusalem District Electricity Company (JDECO) chairman of the board and CEO Hisham Omari said that the company had received the first warning of the second step of electricity cuts to Palestinians in the West Bank due to unpaid debts and theft, according to the Palestinian WAFA news. The first stage of power cuts was announced in September.

Muslim headmaster says ‘Jews have a right to pray on Temple Mount’

A Muslim teacher and headmaster of a school in the Arab town of Tamra, in the Lower Galilee, says that Jews should also have the right to pray on the Temple Mount, admitting, it should be a place of worship for all religions.

The Temple Mount [known to Muslims as Al Haram Ash Sharif] has long been at the center of the Middle East conflict. All three major world religions–Judaism, Christianity and Islam–claim it as holy to their faith. As such, it is much more than just a political flashpoint.

Israel partners with Google to promote ‘Made in Israel’ purchases

The gov’t’s ShoppingIL initiative is to encourage online purchases of manufactured products bearing the “Made in Israel” label at discounted prices during the month of November.

The Economy and Industry Ministry is working to promote the online purchase of products manufactured in Israel in November when shoppers take advantage of special deals on Thanksgiving, as well as online shopping holidays like Cyber Monday and China’s Singles Day.

In light of the success of last year’s effort, the ministry’s Blue and White Headquarters will once again join forces with Google Israel to set up a dedicated manufacturers’ complex for products to receive the “Made in Israel” label. Continue Reading »

Arabs protest Facebook over alleged anti-Palestinian bias

The Palestinian campaign against Facebook’s algorithm that automatically deletes users’ posts should they appear to support terror groups, or calls to incite violence, has been launched by Palestinian journalists & activists.

A social media campaign rejecting what it calls “violations” of Facebook rules by censoring Palestinian content has been launched by Palestinian journalists and activists.

The campaign in cooperation with Sada Social Center, which monitors social media violations against Palestinian content, is calling on users to tweet using the hashtag #FBblockspalestine by Wednesday night at 8 p.m. in order to highlight “the threat posed by Facebook against Palestinian content, and to make it public”. Israel’s PM Netanyahu proposes air-defense against Iranian attacks

Netanyahu’s proposal comes following a series of unpunished Iranian attacks and seizures of foreign oil-tankers, their recent attack on Saudi oil facilities and now Tehran’s accusation that Israel attempted an assassination on the IRGC commender.

In a cabinet meeting on Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proposed a massive air defense system to defend against Iranian attacks, especially cruise missiles like those used in attacks on a Saudi Arabian oil facility last month, according to KAN.

REPORT: Hezbollah, Iranian forces in Syria mysteriously poisoned

Syrian media reports contaminated water traced to areas south of the capital have mysteriously poisoned IRGC troops and Hezbollah militants, leaving many questions of foul play since Russia has been trying to counter any Iranian presence near Damascus.

A large number of Hezbollah fighters and Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps troops were hospitalized due to food poisoning this week, Syrian state media reported Wednesday.

According to the reports, the poisoning can be traced to water in one of Damascus’s southern suburbs, although it was unclear why it had been contaminated and whether this was intentional.

Leading German commissioner on anti-Semitism tells Merkel to end Iran deal

Commissioner Uwe Becker, a member of Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union party is the first antisemitism commissioner to urge the German Chancellor to “immediately freeze its relations with Iran,” and re-impose economic sanctions against Tehran, if Germany’s national interest really is in a secure Israel.

Israel breeds endangered Green sea turtles to save species

The Israeli Sea Turtle Rescue Center north of Tel Aviv is running a unique program that provides nesting areas and hatcheries for the endangered Green sea turtles, with some 200 turtle eggs expected to hatch by the end of 2019 breeding season.
