Trump cuts State Department funds but keeps ‘Aid to Israel’ intact

 

Trump’s budget, titled “America First,” cuts foreign funding for the World Bank and the UN, but the administration vows to ensure that Israel “has the ability to defend itself from threats and maintain its Qualitative Military Edge.”

WASHINGTON — ​A budget outline published by the Trump administration on Thursday respects an agreement made between former US President Barack Obama and the Israeli government to transfer $3.1 billion in foreign military financing to the Jewish state in 2018, despite massive cuts elsewhere across the State Department.

A female Arab driver drove her vehicle over a curve and reportedly attempted to hit a group of civilians and soldiers who were standing at a bus stop in the Gush Etzion Junction.

MDA EMTs and paramedics are providing medical treatment to a 28 year old woman in advanced stages of pregnancy who suffered a panic attack. No injuries were reported. The driver of the vehicle was shot and is being treated by an IDF medical team. Continue Reading »

IDF begins training women to become integrated as tank crew members

 

IDF launches pilot program, with the training of 15 women that will begin this coming summer, after completing their basic training. “We’re giving this a real chance,” says Armored Corps chief Brig. Gen. Guy Hasson.

The military on Thursday launched a pilot program in which women will be trained as tank operators. The program is part of the IDF’s efforts to increase gender integration in infantry combat units.

The screening process for suitable candidates among new recruits is already underway, the IDF said. The pilot will include 15 women, who will begin training in the summer after completing basic training. Continue Reading »

Israel Missile Defense Organization upgrades Iron Dome for maximum efficiency (VIDEO)

An upgraded version of the Iron Dome missile defense system has passed a series of complex tests in recent days, improving the system’s capabilities.

In a recent Hamas parade in Gaza, a yet-unseen capability was displayed: attack dogs, apparently styled after the IDF’s Oketz canine unit.

Hamas’ canine unit is a part of the Nohba (“elect”) tunnel unit of the organization, and has been used so far for patrolling the new paved patrol road that runs along the border with Israel – 250 meters running inside PA territory. WATCH: Israel’s Defense Ministry announced Wednesday’s trial testing concluded successfully in its entirety, managing to intercept every single simulated target in the air, and at a high altitudes far from the Israeli coastline.

The Israeli security apparatus completed an experiment stretching over a number of days of the new advance David’s Sling system capable of defending against mid-range missiles.

The system is being developed and manufactured jointly by Israel’s state-owned Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd and Raytheon Co, a top US arms maker.

During the experiment that took place on Wednesday, a number of precision missiles were launched from Israeli Air Force (IAF) jets above the Mediterranean, at which the advanced system dully fired interception rockets upon detection
