Israeli jets kill Hamas operative, wound another in retaliation after attacking Israel

Israeli Jets strike Gaza second time, killing Hamas operative and seriously wounding another after they hit an Israeli home with gunfire directed at earlier IAF retaliatory response for Hamas detonating explosive device near IDF border patrol. Apparently the  explosive device was placed under cover of the thick smoke during ‘peaceful’ Gaza demonstration days earlier.

Israeli fighter jets attacked overnight Wednesday a Hamas terror position in the northern Gaza Strip in retaliation for an explosive device that detonated Wednesday morning near an IDF force on the border.

After the attack, a terror cell in the strip fired bullets at the aircraft [captured in video above], triggering two Code Red alert sirens in Israeli towns neighboring the northern sector of the Hamas-ruled enclave. Continue Reading »

REPORT: Palestinian journalist killed by IDF was Hamas drone operator

Yasser Murtaja apparently was a veteran member of Hamas’ security apparatus who brought drones into Gaza for intelligence gathering purposes.
– Israel’s Defense Minister, “We also saw a journalist approach the border and operate a drone.”

Yasser Murtaja, the Palestinian journalist who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers during protests along the Gaza border on Friday, was actually a Hamas activist, security officials told Israeli news site Walla!.

According the the report published Tuesday morning, Murtaja had been an officer in the Hamas security apparatus in Gaza for years.

First US, now Israel accused by Russia of attacking Syrian air-base

An Israeli military spokesman had no immediate comment to foreign charges that IAF jets left 14 dead, including Iranians, after the Syrian T4 airport was attacked by missiles launched from F-15 fighter-jets.

The Russian Ministry of Defense accused Israel of bombing an air base in Syria overnight, the Russian news agency Interfax reported on Monday. Syrian state media also accused Israel of carrying out the strike.

Russia said Syrian air defense systems shot down five of eight missiles fired by two Israeli F-15 combat jets from Lebanese air space, Interfax said.
