India recruits IDF K-9 life-savers

 

India begins integrating elite IDF ‘Oketz’ sniffers into their security forces that specialize in search and rescue missions, guard duty, and locating explosive material.

Israeli elite sniffer and attack dogs have been imported to India to add teeth to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security team, the Indian Telegraph reported.

A ‘senior’ security official told the paper that 30 “attack dogs, bomb sniffers and chasers,” were brought from Jerusalem during the past year.

He also added that the canines were also “very effective” in combat.

IDF makes late night arrest of senior West Bank Hamas parliamentarian

 

Muhammed Abu Tir, one of the most senior Hamas leaders in Judea and Samaria, was arrested at his home in the middle of the night by the IDF over his participation in terror financing.

The IDF arrested a Hamas member of the Palestinian parliament at his home near Ramallah overnight, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said on Friday, according to AFP.

Muhammed Abu Tir, 65, was arrested only two months after he was released from a previous 17-month sentence, the group said.

Gaza Rocket Explodes in Southern Israel

 

IDF locates remnant of rocket fired from Gaza early Sunday morning in an open field, having presumed earlier it had exploded mid-air.

The Israeli army announced on Sunday afternoon that a rocket fired from Gaza in the early hours of the morning, had not exploded in mid-air as previously thought, but in fact landed in an open field inside Israel. No injuries or damage were reported.

Quick-thinking mom locked 5 kids in side-room, saving them from slaughter

The wife of Elad 36, one of the 3 Halamish victims butchered, managed to lock her children in a room during the attack, saving them from a certain death.

When the terrorist burst into a house in Neve Tzuf (Halamish) and started stabbing those assembled, the wife of one of those killed managed to lock five children into a room and call the Police. Her quick thinking likely stopped the body count from being even higher.

The IDF on Tuesday released two videos documenting Hezbollah operatives violating a U.N. Security Council resolution aimed at preventing the Shiite terrorist organization from maintaining a presence on the Lebanon-Israel border.

Security Council Resolution 1701, drawn up to resolve the 2006 Second Lebanon War, stipulated that only armed U.N. peacekeepers and the Lebanese army would be deployed in southern Lebanon.

In the first video, Hezbollah operatives can be seen gathering intelligence along the Lebanon-Israel border after evading UNIFIL inspectors with the help of warnings from the Lebanese army. Continue Reading »

Israel admits to sending tons of food, clothing, fuel and aid to Syrian refugees

The IDF revealed that it has been providing humanitarian aid, including half a million liters of diesel fuel and dozens of generators to about 200,000 Syrian citizens living in 80 villages and towns in the Syrian Golan Heights that is controlled by ‘friendly’ rebel groups, not affiliated with ISIS.

IDF introduces new protective method for disarming terrorists without injury

 

The IDF has created a fail-safe system enabling it to curtail injury to a single soldier, Palestinian civilian or even a would-be knife-carrying terrorist.

The city of Hebron has seen an increase in the number of attempted stabbing attacks than the height of the wave of terror last year. However, in all of the attempts, the IDF and Border Police have succeeded in neutralizing the armed Palestinians with the incidents ending without injury to either the soldiers or the would-be terrorists.

IDF’s Bedouin reconnaissance battalion disbanded, soldiers reassigned to other units

 

Just as the IDF disbanded the Druze battalion in July 2015 after decades of service, the IDF closes its dedicated Bedouin reconnaissance battalion to integrate the soldiers into other units, hoping it will increase enlistment from the country’s Bedouin sector.

The Israel Defense Forces Bedouin reconnaissance battalion, established in the 1990s, was officially disbanded on Tuesday in an emotional ceremony.

IDF Chief: Stopping the transfer of weapons to Hezbollah is IDF’s “top priority”

 

Speaking at the Knesset, IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot reports Hezbollah’s rockets are not particularly accurate at the moment, and under the nose of UNIFIL forces,  Hezbollah continues to violate UN resolution 1701, so the IDF’s “top priority” is to keep Hezbollah from improving the accuracy of its missiles.

IDF demolishes memorial to Palestinian leader of 1974 Ma’alot massacre

 

Palestinian media reported that the IDF entered Jenin and demolished a memorial erected in honor of Khalid Nazzal, a Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine leader, who was responsible for the murder of 22 children & 3 adults, a.k.a. the Ma’alot massacre of 1974.

IDF soldiers have destroyed a memorial in Jenin to Khalid Nazzal, a leader of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) terrorist group who was responsible for a deadly terror attack in the northern town of Ma’alot in 1974.

Wall Street Journal: Israel secretly supplies Syrian rebel groups

 

The WSJ reports that Israel’s policy is to ensure that Iranian-allied militant groups operating in Syria, most notably Hezbollah, are kept away from Israeli territory, including the Golan Heights.

Israel has been supplying Syrian rebel groups in the Golan Heights with funding, medical supplies, food and hard cash in an effort to create a security buffer to protect the country’s border from the maelstrom of the Syrian civil war, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) set up a military unit that is specifically tasked with supporting certain independent rebel groups who are not currently backed by Western powers, the Journal reported, adding that Israel provides money which the groups use to pay fighters and buy weapons.
