IDF kills 3 terrorists, captures 1 from 2 infiltration attempts

SPECIAL SECURITY REPORT

Attempted breaches on Sunday of Israel’s border fence with Gaza thwarted as IDF forces kill 3 of the infiltrators, all neutralized. Explosives thrown at soldiers during second attempt.

The IDF stated that two attempts were made to infiltrate Israel from Gaza Sunday evening.

In the first incident, two terrorists were identified attempting to breach the fence in the southern Gaza Strip. IDF forces opened fire on the suspects, killing one of them. The other suspect was apprehended and taken for questioning by security forces.

3 Gazan’s shot dead, ‘hundreds’ of Palestinians attempt to breach border fence

Although turnout continues to dwindle compared to the first weeks of Gaza’s ‘March of Return’ demonstrations, the IDF reported Friday that “hundreds of violent rioters,” prodded on by Hamas, were stopped by soldiers while attempting to break into Israel.

UN: IDF ignoring repeated warnings to end lethal force on Gaza border

Jordanian Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights condemns Israel for the IDF’s use of ‘live-fire’ against Gaza’s civilian protesters, and calls for the soldiers to be “held accountable.”

The UN rights chief on Friday urged Israeli forces to stop using force to prevent Arab rioters from charging Israel’s security fence, and demanded that Israeli troops who do use force to defend the border “be held accountable.”

Israel has no expectations of unbiased judgements from Jordanian Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

IDF kill 16 Gazans – Palestinian autocrat Abbas: Israel to blame for deaths

IDF responds to attacks with snipers, tanks killing 16 Palestinians on Friday, for which PA autocrat blamed Israel “for the deaths of the martyrs in Gaza,” declares a day of mourning.

Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Friday evening blamed Israel for the deaths of Gazans who took part in the large-scale “March of the Return” towards the border with Israel.

“I express my pride in the sacrifice of the Palestinian people today. I place the responsibility  today on Israel,” Abbas declared in a televised address.

Hordes of Gazans flock to Israel’s border fence demanding ‘Right of Return’

Although a Hamas organizer of the demonstration emphasized it will be “peaceful & nonviolent,” Israel considers the border area a ‘closed military zone’, so an IDF commander said live fire will be used, if the protesters threaten Israeli lives.

Masses of Palestinians are expected to come to the Gaza border on Friday and move into tents there for a planned six-week-long protest “to demand the right of return to the homes and villages that they were expelled from in 1948,” Ahmad Abu Ratima, an organizer of the protest, told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday.

The beginning of the protest on Friday is scheduled to coincide with Land Day, which Palestinians annually commemorate the six Arab-Israelis who Israeli security forces killed during demonstrations in 1976 over government land confiscations in northern Israel. Continue Reading »

IDF tanks destroy Hamas posts after Palestinians ignite fire on Gaza border-fence

Having attempted to destroy Israel’s security infrastructure, IDF tanks retaliate after 2 Palestinians, without entering into Israel, started a brush fire that they hoped would incapacitate the operations of Israel’s electronic border fence with Gaza.

The Israeli army shelled two Hamas observation posts in the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday after two Palestinians arrived at the border fence and started a fire, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) reported on Wednesday.

The suspects approached the Karni Crossing but “did not cross the fence nor infiltrate into Israel,” the IDF statement said.

“The IDF views with severity any attempt to damage and destroy the security fence and security infrastructure,” the statement ended.

Sapper robot neutralized grenades found on 3 nabbed Palestinian terrorists from Gaza

With the help of a robot, Israel Police sapper neutralized the grenades after the IDF captured 3 Palestinian terrorists who infiltrated from Gaza; no injuries reported.

An IDF force on Tuesday morning arrested three Palestinians armed with knives and grenades after they had infiltrated Israel from the Gaza Strip. The terrorists were caught in the Tze’elim area, about 20 kilometers from the Gaza border.

A police sapper was dispatched to the area to neutralize the grenades with the help of a police robot.

The incident is being investigated. There were no reports of injuries. The IDF instructed Gaza vicinity residents to return to their routine schedule. Continue Reading »

ICRC brokers deal allowing Gaza farmers to utilize land adjacent to Israeli border

Negotiated by the Red Cross, the IDF now allows Gazans to farm along the Israeli border for first time since 2006, when the land was deemed a ‘security corridor’ after Hamas began attacking Israelis and border patrols.

A group of Gazans were allowed to farm their land near the border with Israel for the first time since 2006 on Monday after a deal agreed with Israeli authorities.

IDF arrests 3 Gazans who crossed into Israel, Jets strike targets near Gaza-Egypt border

IDF announced 3 Palestinians from Gaza who crossed over border fence into Israel were arrested Saturday evening and that IAF jets destroyed “terrorist infrastructure” near the Gaza-Egypt border, which Palestinian media reported to be a tunnel.
– Without going into details, the IDF also announced it would be closing the Kerem Shalom crossing after an assessment of the current security situation with Gaza.

Israeli border technicians prevent smuggling tons of explosive materials into Gaza

Since the new joint project between Israel’s Crossing Authority, Shin Bet & Israel Police, the lab has identified substances which could be weaponized, literally preventing tons of explosive materials from reaching the Palestinian terror organizations in Gaza.

An attempt to smuggle tons of explosive material into the Gaza Strip has been thwarted by the Israeli Ministry of Defense’s Crossing Authority, it was announced on Wednesday.

The attempt was foiled thanks to a new, advanced chemistry laboratory that was set up in recent weeks at Israel’s Kerem Shalom crossing with Gaza.

Egypt expands buffer zone to 1.5 km wide along border with Gaza

Egyptian military uses bulldozers to destroy an additional 140 homes along its unsecured border with Gaza to expand its buffer zone once again, this time in a coordinated effort with Hamas to prevent illicit weapons, ISIS and other militants from covertly crossing the border.
