Lockheed Martin delivers 7th C-130J heavy transport plane to Israel Air Force

The C-130J heavy transport plane is able to fly over 4,000 kilometers and equipped with cutting-edge avionics along with an advanced anti-missile defense system that deploys decoys, allowing the plane to maneuver away from the threat.

The Israel Air Force received it’s seventh C-130J transport plane, the military announced.

A ceremony at Nevatim Airbase led by Brig.-Gen.Eyal Greenboim and the commander of the Elephant Squadron Lt.Col. “H” was held Sunday to mark the arrival of the latest C-130J, known in Israel as “Samson” and Super Hercules in the US.

For the first time since the beginning of Operation Northern Shield on December 4, Israel allowed a foreign news source to take a look at one of Hezbollah’s cross-border tunnels discovered only meters away from Lebanon.

Russia warns Lebanon over Hezbollah’s violations of Israeli sovereignty

London-based Arabic media outlet reports that the Russian government sent a stern warning to Lebanon to not permit ongoing violations of Israeli territory by a member of its government, Hezbollah, following the IDF’s discovery, and UNIFIL’s verification, of 4 attack-tunnels thus far.

The Russian government has warned Lebanon not to permit violations of Israeli territory by the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, the London-based Arabic media outlet Asharq Al-Awsatreported.

According to the report, Moscow warned the Lebanese government in a letter “not to play games with United Nations [Security Council] Resolution 1701”, referring to the August 11th, 2006 motion by the Security Council marking the end of the second Israel-Lebanon war. Continue Reading »

The Israeli Defense Forces announced on Sunday morning that it had exposed a fourth tunnel on Israel’s northern border as Operation Northern Shield enters its third week.

The IDF operation, aimed at locating and destroying an unknown number of tunnels built by Lebanese Hezbollah, was made public on December 4 after being carried out for over four years previously under the name “Operation White Gold.”

Hezbollah flabbergasted: IDF uncovers third Hezbollah terror tunnel

Immediately after the IDF uncovered yet another Hezbollah attack-tunnel, explosive devices were placed inside the tunnel rendering it neutralized and extremely dangerous for anyone entering from the Lebanese side.

A short while ago, IDF troops exposed a cross-border attack tunnel that crossed the Blue Line from Lebanese territory into Israel.

The attack tunnel is under the IDF’s control and does not pose an imminent threat, the army stated.

Cleared for Publication: Officer From Elite IDF Unit Killed Deep Inside Gaza

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement, “During IDF special forces’ operational activity in Gaza, an exchange of fire broke out, during which an IDF officer was killed and an additional IDF officer was moderately injured.”
– The commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, 6 other terrorists killed and 7 were wounded during the military operation.

An IDF soldier from an elite unit was killed on Sunday night during an operation in the Gaza Strip.

Another soldier was injured and evacuated to the Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva. Their families have been notified.

Mayor of Shiraz, Iran apologizes for mistakenly featuring IDF soldiers on billboard meant to remember the 8 year old Iran–Iraq War.

An Iranian mayor on Friday apologized for a billboard which mistakenly featured Israeli soldiers although it was meant to mark the Iran-Iraq war, AFP reports.

“The billboard was installed in Shiraz showing three male soldiers standing on a rocky outcrop” next to a quote from an epic Persian poem, wrote the Iranian Tasnim news agency.

However, the shot was actually a photoshopped picture of Israel Defense Forces, according to Tasnim, with a female soldier from the original picture having been cropped out. Continue Reading »

IDF offers amnesty to deserters who return ‘home’ during holiday season

For the second time this year, the IDF offers those who dodged their military service the opportunity to ‘regularize’ their status with the army, but they only have until the 30th of November.

The IDF has apparently offered amnesty to Israeli citizens abroad who did not serve in the army, allowing them to visit the country during the holiday season, the Times of Israel reported Sunday.

As Israel prepares to celebrate the Jewish new year and the beginning of the holiday season, Israeli citizens who left the country in order to avoid serving in the army, or who left the country as children without returning for the draft, will be allowed to visit without risking arrest for desertion. IDF acquires precision rockets that guarantee unprecedented accuracy

Israel’s Ministry of Defense has signed a deal to develop and acquire advanced precise short and long range rockets worth hundreds of millions of shekels with Israel Military Industries (IMI).

According to the Ministry of Defense, the precision firepower will significantly improves the IDF’s capabilities of accurately hitting a target from a distance at immediate availability and with a low mission cost relative to other combat systems.

Palestinian terrorist killed by IDF tank after shooting at soldiers on Gaza border

After a single Arab terrorist from Hamas controlled Gaza opened fire on an Israeli army unit along the northern border with Israel, IDF Merkava tank eliminates the terrorist.

A terrorist operating out of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip opened fire on IDF forces stationed along the Gaza border Monday morning, before being killed by Israeli tank fire.

The incident occurred along the border of the northern Gaza Strip, an IDF spokesperson said Monday, when a single terrorist opened fire on an Israeli army unit.

Earlier this month a Hamas snipper firing into Israel was eliminated by IDF tank-fire.

158 volunteers from 18 countries arrive in Israel to volunteer for the IDF

Majority of the new IDF recruits, new immigrants and foreign volunteers, come from North America, followed by 43 volunteers from France, 16 from the UK.

IDF volunteers from 18 different countries arrived in Israel over this summer, the Defense Ministry’s Social Defense Branch announced Wednesday.

The 158 new recruits comprised of 120 male volunteers and 38 females, the majority from North America with 69 volunteers (45%) followed France with 43 volunteers (30%).

According to the Defense Ministry, the number of volunteers from Australia has “quadrupled” since last year with eight volunteers, and the number from Britain doubled with 16 volunteers this year. Continue Reading »

Southern Command head General Herzi Halevi said on Sunday that Israel would start targeting terrorists responsible for launching incendiary kites into Israel, more than three months after the phenomenon began.

“We have prepared for these things in recent weeks. We understand that there is a change in thinking about how to deal with the fire terrorism, and we have developed all sorts of things in order to expand the response,” Halevi said at a meeting of commanders whose units are deployed near Gaza. IDF trucks in tons of humanitarian aid in overnight operation to Syria

IDF shot dead axe-wielding Palestinian terrorist breaching Gaza border

IDF forces open fire on two Palestinian terrorists armed with hatchets, infiltrating through the border fence into Israel from Gaza, killing one, while the second skedaddled back into Gaza.

Two Arab terrorists attempted to infiltrate into Israel Monday from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip. The terrorists damaged the Israeli fence on the Gaza border, and attempted to cross over into Israeli territory near Kibbutz Nirim.

Israeli security forces stationed along the border spotted the two terrorists and opened fire.
