Rambam Hospital in Haifa and Georgia Tech start med-tech partnership

A Georgia Institute of Technology affiliate in Atlanta will host a new medical innovation incubator for local Israeli bio-med and digital health companies.

Rambam Health Care Campus of Haifa and the Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI) – an affiliate of the Georgia Institute of Technology — are partnering to start a med-tech incubator for Israeli-based companies in Atlanta.

GCMI, along with Rambam doctors and specialists from various fields, will provide advice and consultation to Israeli companies at the new Biomedical and Digital Health Innovation Center to help them obtain funding, navigate commercialization and regulatory clearance and other necessities for entering the US healthcare market. Major Holy Land churches demand PM block Jerusalem property law

A senior Roman Catholic official, along with heads of the Greek Orthodox and Armenian churches in Jerusalem condemn the proposed draft legislation they say is aimed at expropriating property that the church has been subletting to commercial businessmen.

Three major Holy Land churches on Friday called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to block draft legislation they said was aimed at expropriating their property.

In a letter to Netanyahu seen by AFP, heads of the Armenian and Greek Orthodox churches in Jerusalem and a senior Roman Catholic official condemned the bill as “disgraceful.”They said its inclusion on the agenda of a government committee meeting scheduled for Sunday reneged on previous commitments to withdraw the law. Palestinian Security arrest Palestinian-American for selling house to Jews

A family member sought the help of the U.S. State Department when his Palestinian-American relative was arrested by Mahmoud Abbas’ PA for suspicion of receiving $25,000 in the sale of a house in east Jerusalem to Jews.

Palestinian Authority security forces have arrested a Palestinian-American citizen on suspicion of involvement in a real estate transaction with Jews in east Jerusalem, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

The man’s family has notified the US State Department of his arrest.

Palestinian sources said that the man, a resident of Bethlehem, had worked for the PA Ministry for Local Government. Continue Reading »

IDF moving large mechanized forces to Gaza border

The IDF has begun gathering tanks, artillery, infantry troops and engineering vehicles along Israel’s southern border with Gaza, possibly as a deterrent to an anticipated escalation of terror attacks on the IDF & Israeli communities.

The IDF started ramping up its armored forces along the Gaza border on Thursday in a daylight show of force following a Security Cabinet decision to escalate retaliation for any violent incidents originating in the strip.

Among the forces that amassed at the border were dozens of tanks, artillery, infantry APCs and engineering vehicles.

US merges east Jerusalem consulate with new US Jerusalem embassy

US decision to merge its Jerusalem embassy and the consulate that was primarily used by the Arab residents, is not tied to a change on Jerusalem’s final status, but rather, “to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our [State Department] operations.”

The U.S. embassy in Jerusalem and the U.S. consulate in eastern Jerusalem, which primarily serves Palestinian-Americans, will merge, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced.

Arab states threaten action should Australia also recognize Jerusalem

In a letter signed by Arab Ambassadors from 13 states, consequences were listed should Australia actually move to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, as Australia’s new premier said he was considering.

Palestinian terrorist shot dead in Samaria stabbing attack

Attempted stabbing attack by an Arab Palestinian terrorist was swiftly foiled near Highway 5 in Samaria when alert IDF soldiers opened fire to neutralize the knife yielding terrorist running towards them.

An Arab terrorist attempted to carry out a stabbing attack near Highway 5 in Samaria Monday afternoon, but was eliminated by Israeli security forces before he could reach his target.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred near Gitti Avisar junction on Highway 5 outside the Israeli town of Barkan when the terrorist lunged at IDF soldiers while brandishing a knife.

Louisiana Gov. brings economic development delegation to Israel

Israel Air Force grounds F-35i squadron

Following a crash in North Carolina of a U.S. Marine Corps F-35B, Israel grounds its fleet of ‘Adirs’ until an investigative checkup of the aircrafts is completed.

The Israeli Air Force decided to ground its fleet of F-35 fighter jets after the plane’s first ever crash last month in North Carolina.

During the crash, the Marine Corps F-35B was completely destroyed. A post-crash investigation found that a faulty fuel pipe in the engine caused the crash, leading the US to ground all of it’s F-35 planes until they can be given the once-over.

The IDF discovers and destroys the 15th Hamas attack tunnel, this one dug 200 meters into Israeli territory, and like the others,  linked to a vast network ‎within Gaza of underground passageways.

Cleared for publication: The Israeli military ‎uncovered and neutralized a Hamas terror tunnel ‎breaching Israeli territory. This is the 15th cross-border tunnel discovered and destroyed this year.‎

Executive Board of UNESCO passed resolutions declaring that both, the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron and Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem, are “an integral part of the Occupied Palestinian territory.”

Hebrew U of J’lem seeks to terminate entry ban for detained US student

Arab States ask Azerbaijan’s President how he balances ties with Israel

The Azerbaijani leader reveled to a visiting American Rabbi that officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan “are looking for his guidance on how to navigate being a Muslim country committed to Islam, and at the same time reaching out and supporting Israel.”

In Jerusalem, Mayor Nir Barkat presented a plan to remove all UNRWA operations from the capital and begin providing full municipal services to the residents of Shuafat, where UNRWA operates schools and clinics without Israeli permission.
